My only disappointment was a service phone going off throughout the night (in the next room, which I believe was an unattended staff room). Intermittent alarm bell resulted in a restless night. Not the best when you've an early start and a long day ahead of you! But couldn't fault the hotel and it's service.

Decoration seemed a little tired, facilities were limited, would be nice to have in the bedroom a more up to date flat screen TV, coffee machine, a few biscuits. Larger choice of continental breakfast and restaurant food.

Wednesday 20th march, Izzy had a day off. different staff on. Service was slow. Constantly got the wrong order and overcharged on the bill. Had to correct twice

The room was very,very tired and needs refurbishing- the furniture and the woodwork were very battered. The shower tray was so grimy that I chose not to use the shower. The young lady on reception as I arrived was very welcoming and charming, and told me I had been upgraded. If this room was the upgrade, the original room would have been disappointing, though the pricing was very reasonable.Better not to have told me it was an upgrade as it raised my expectations.

The location and the grounds were lovely. The price was so reasonable for the area that I did not have high expectations.

Beautiful location but comes with faults - floorboards very creaky. So much we could hear next door. Geese were also very noisy although I know this is not avoidable. Breakfast buffet was quite underwhelming but the cooked food was brilliant.

Based on my last experience staying here the room only cost felt over priced for what I got. Avoid ‘double room’ in the main house. The room i had was very cramped, literally in the top attic space at the very end of a wonky corridor, paper peeling from the sloping ceiling, very hot in the night, no windows that opened. On this stay alone I wouldn’t return sadly just wasn’t value for money or a pleasant or comfortable stay I’m afraid.

As a returning customer the location was perfect for my needs.

The cleanliness of the communal carpets requires attention and under the bed was very dusty.

The venue was nice, rustic wit a fairly modern twist. The food was delicious, we ate ate restaurant, the bar menu and breakfast. Everything, was hot, fresh, well presented.

This was a return visit following a lovely stay in the Summer. In comparison with last time we were disappointed. The room was small with side of the bed against the wall. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Had to go back to reception twice as no toilet roll or tea in the room. In the morning discovered brown stains on bath towel and under the cover the duvet was stained and marked with mold.

Lovely setting, attractive building and grounds.Breakfast and evening meal were tasty and booking them as part of a package was good value for money. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive.

This was our 2nd stay at the hotel and was disappointed that the excellent Lamb Shank was no longer on the menu it was 1 of the reasons we returned the old menu was great.

Staff members Raj,Ravi and Volfer were all very helpful and must be a great asset to your team 😀 And in general we found all your staff were warm and friendly.

The hotel looks tired in terms of decor and upkeep. It’s a shame to see a historic property in such a poor state of repairs. It now needs a lot of money spent to bring it back up to a good standard. I booked a “Deluxe Double Room” located by the front entrance. It was not in good condition, whilst the bed was clean and comfortable

Perhaps due to the age of the hotel itself but it needs some care and attention. Rooms were quite dusty and bathrooms were in need of some TLC. Heating in bathroom was broken so was extremely cold on a January morning! We had a junior suite but didn’t feel particularly special or luxurious for the price.
