So difficult but if I had to pick one thing to improve I’d say just add a nice patterned vinyl frosting to outside of shower door as it’s see through into the room (they do provide a nice foldable privacy screen to use but vinyl would save having to) I know that’s pedantic but it seriously is a fantastic place so that’s all I could think of!

Great location within 3 minute walk of beautiful little town, it was exceptionally clean, had ALL of the little details you want from complimentary breakfast pots and fresh milk in the fridge to a nice place to sit and chill out by the river! The host was incredibly friendly and couldn’t do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed! Have already recommended it to other family members.

Absolutely nothing. For our needs, everything was catered for.

We loved everything about the place. Tim and Annie have thought of everything. Although we didn’t eat there. Breakfast, if you wanted it, was provided in the way of microwaveable porridge. Wine, water, milk and biscuits were all provided. The room itself was very warm and inviting. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room, the accessories and furniture were all stunning. The shower had lovely hot water and if you had forgotten shampoo etc, it was all provided. Tim and Annie were very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. They let us have sole use of part of their lovely garden, which overlooked the river, as well as the gorgeous little summerhouse. The room itself, was “ A little gem” along with a beautiful setting, it made our stay in Wallingford all the more enjoyable. Thank you.

The situation is idyllic and having our own private garden by the river was something very special. We loved our room which had everything we wanted plus beautiful pottery and pictures to make us feel even more relaxed. The little summer house for our sole use was an added bonus and our hosts were lovely too.

Amazingly comfortable (and large) bed, powerful shower, an Alexa and a garden area on the River Thames which we had a little swim in when the boats weren’t passing by. 11 out of 10 - bonus point awarded for little Murphy the dog

The accommodation and hosts were fantastic. Annie and Tim were very friendly and helpful. The location is just stunning, right on the Thames with all the water traffic cruising past and lots of wildlife. The room was delightful and presented to an extremely high standard with lots of extras that you would see at a high end boutique hotel. Bed was sooooo comfy and all amenities top notch. Great pubs and restaurants,,, staggering distance... We will come back i am certain as you really cant beat this for everything that you need on a luxury mini break, at good value.

Nothing not to like

Fantastic location, we had our own garden looking onto the river. Excellent room, well equipped with tea, coffee etc and breakfast pots. Annie and Tim were Lovely hosts. Murphy, their dog was a cutie and very sociable. We also spotted a Kingfisher, very exciting as this was the first time we had seen one.

We spent 5 days at the Thames Edge Rooms in June. The room is very cozy and stylishly furnished. We occasionally used the gazebo in the garden for breakfast or for a glass of wine in the evening. You can enjoy the peace and quiet on the sun loungers on the banks of the Thames. We found Tim and Anni to be very friendly and helpful hosts. This location is particularly suitable for fans of the Midsomer Murders (Inspector Barnaby) and Agatha Christie. We really enjoyed our time there.

Nothing. It was all perfect - even the weather.

Location was amazing. We were on the Thames Path and after a long walk, it was lovely that the accommodation was right on the path. As to the accommodation, we were blown away, the beds were so comfy and lots of attention to detail with little extras wherever you looked. The seating area outside had a bench, table and chairs and comfy with chairs and you could help yourselves to cushions. Tim and Annie were very friendly and nothing too much trouble. We didn't want to leave!!

The location was delightful the hosts were so friendly and welcoming and there were lovely little extras offered in the hospitality cupboard. When asked for extra information to get taxis to our event Tim went on a hunt for additional numbers as so many were already booked up! I can’t wait to plan another stay here

Everything was perfect

We recently stayed at Thames Edge Rooms and had a wonderful stay. Tim was the perfect host and we had excellent communications from him. He was always available and willing to assist The property was fantastic for us and over-met all of our needs – extremely well appointed and comprehensively equipped. The location is stunning – on the riverbank with its own seating area, summer house and comfy chairs to watch the boats go by. It is less than 5 minutes walk into the pretty town of Wallingford where there are plenty of shops and good eating places. We try not to overstate properties in our reviews, but this property is exceptional. What a find!

We had a fantastic stay. The room is very well set out, nicely decorated and very clean. They have thought of everything, high quality wash products, organic milk and tea. They even leave you some wine, biscuits and porridge which is lovely. The view from the house is beautiful on the Thames and great for enjoying a glass of wine. The garden is also lovely with lots of flowers. There's lots to do in the area and some fantastic places to eat and drink. Wallingford is only a short walk away if you don't want to drive anywhere. Tim and Annie were also very friendly and the guest book is very detailed and helpful. We would stay again as its a perfect break from London and not too far.
