Beautiful property, hosts Julie, Peter and Teddy (family pet) were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was stunningly decorated and exceptionally clean. The power shower was lovely after a day of sightseeing. Located right by the harbour was perfect for everything right on the doorstep.

The position in the centre of town was excellent! Having parking as well was a definite plus. The room was lovely and very comfortable. Peter and Julie were lovely. Very helpful. I highly recommend it.

There wasn't anything not to like.

The location was perfect only a couple of minutes walk and you're in the center of Whitby.The hosts are very nice and so welcoming, parking is just behind the property very easy to get to, the room was excellent ,would definitely recommend it.

The location was very close to the centre of whitby right next to the train station but not noisy. No breakfast, but a gorgeous property very high end decor throughout. The proprietors are extremely welcoming & have lots of knowledge about places to eat & visit .

A beautiful room in a beautiful property. Private parking and a stones throw from the centre. The hosts were lovely and helpful. I would highly recommend The Mainstay to everyone, and it will be our go to accommodation the next time we visit Whitby.

The nights were very hot so we had the windows open. People passing by were very noisy coming home from their night out. Obviously the property owners can’t do anything about that.

There is nothing to dislike! It is just like a home-from-home with plenty of amenities in your room.

The hotel is in a brilliant location for Whitby Town centre, just behind the train station, but no noise from trains. The owners are extremely friendly and pleased to ensure you are comfortable and all of your needs are satisfied.

Beautiful well appointed rooms in a fantastic location literally a few steps away from everything. Free car parking and super helpful hosts who gave us good recommendations for places to eat and visit etc. Our room had a lovely view over to the harbour and Abbey above. Highly recommended.

Great location, just around the corner from the centre of Whitby. Owners were super helpful but at the same time left you to your own unless they saw you around. Room was spotless and bed was amazingly comfy. Coffee, tea and biscuits were on the table for when we arrived. The little patio we had gave a lovely view when we sat out there in the mornings.

Bed was a little bit soft for us but that wasn't because of the quality of the mattress, just our preference.

Peter and Julie were very welcoming, everything that we needed was there and if we needed anything extra our hosts were there on hand to help. The mainstay has a central location and is easy to get to. Our hosts were very helpful with local information. We will definitely be visiting again.

Stayed a few times in Whitby this had to be the best ever place to stay at so clean two minutes from centre and the owners lovely couple would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will be staying again
