Read the foregoing - our stay at the Rectory Manor could not have been better! At first we were concerned that dinners were not available at the hotel BUT, given the close proximity of several fabulous restaurants, I fully endorse the hotel's decision to do what they do best and to recommend those establishments that excel at producing fabulous food.

We were treated as if we were the host's best friends who had been invited for a short stay. We stayed for 9 nights and it never felt like we were in an hotel - just that we were guests in a beautifully appointed manor house, with free access to the grounds and to a beautifully appointed room - calling it just a "lounge" would have been a disservice. On days when the temperature outside dropped, fires were lit and maintained in whichever room we spent any time Our bedroom suite was centrally heated and extremely comfortable. Normally a bit of a pedant (according to my wife), but unable to find anything to complain about!

Excellent Garden View room, which was perfect when visiting with two dogs. Loads of space with a wonderful luxurious feel. The setting was fabulous and the staff were welcoming.

The additional charge for a cooked breakfast on top of already paying for breakfast. No hot chocolate in the room although it was meant to be there!

Everything - the feel of the property, the quality of the decor, the size of the rooms, the friendliness of the owner. The fires and the classical music at breakfast, along with homemade jam options. It's a wonderful place to stay for a short break.

I would have no hesitation staying again or recommending the Rectory Manor hotel. It exceeded our expectations as a very friendly hotel with some lovely personal touches. The breakfast was excellent & very freshly prepared for us. Room and bed was really comfortable.

Breakfast was a tad expensive, and not great. Bathroom could possibly do with a heated towel holder.

Absolutely nothing....

Thoroughly enjoyed our staycation albeit only for one (1) night. The room was perfect enjoyed our breakfast as we decided that we had enough food earlier to last until morning. Met interesting people at breakfast which made our visit more intimate and interesting. The area is very interesting as we visited both Lavenham and Long Melford, tea for 2 in one and alcoholic in another.... Thank you one and all....

Fabulous property with beautiful gardens. Host and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Particularly enjoyed the swimming pool. We only stayed one night but next time it will be for longer.

The hotel location was idyllic. The room was private and beautiful. The pool was an absolute must. We were lucky enough to have it to ourselves. It was exactly the quick get away we needed.

A great welcome with a surprise upgrade to my room. A wonderful reception and a beautiful room with all the facilities you could want from a stay. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice and cooked to order.
