Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Sadly the hotel is beginning to look tired and quite a lot of maintenance work is needed. Although our room was clean the paint around the window was very old and peeling and some of the wall paper not in the best condition.
The staff were good and very helpful. The lady running the bar deserves and extra special mention. Our room was on the upper floor and in the original part of the hotel, so nothing is level including the floor! The room was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The shower was large and the water hot. Breakfast was well presented and good quality. The Spread Eagle is in the centre of Thame and close to the main bus stops and car parks. There is a pay and display car park at the rear of the hotel. The cost is £5 for 24 hours.

Duvet uncomfortable , the poor girl at breakfast was on her own and needs some help , she can’t do all the food orders as well as fill up the pastries , tea and coffee as well as clear the tables

There was no water in the room in terms of drinking bottles but also only boiling hot water was coming from the tap. The toilet did not flush in the morning. We were allowed to use the bathroom in a different room which was lovely, however the toilet there also didn't flush.
The staff were absolutely lovely and the accommodation is clean and well presented. The hotel is in a lovely village

The water pressure was low which resulted in a less than ideal shower, but water pressure is probably beyond the ability of the hotel to fix!
We didn't have dinner, but breakfast was a little utilitarian, served in the bar. Our 'full English' was very good, however and the staff were very friendly

Found breakfast to be not the best experience. There were no clean glasses for the juice and only had mugs for tea. I was surprised not to offered teacup and teapots. Breakfast itself was very mediocre and the gentleman serving was not the most pleasant chap seemed like everything was a chore.
The building itself is lovely, and we were very honoured to have been upgraded to a garden room which was really nice. The room itself was clean and tidy, very comfortable and plenty of room.

Shower just a trickle. Radiator broke but did provide a small oil filled radiator Drafty windows and patio doors. Not double glazed

Original allocated room was not good. Window blind hanging off window. Replacement was very dark, light switches didn’t work properly. One light didn’t work at all. Shower was broken.

Some small things would need a repair.
I like the atmosphere. We had a room with the door leading to a nice garden with several trees and blossoming daffodils, where we could sit outside. All nice and quiet. There is a kettle in the room and coffee/tea.

Additional charge for car parking. Windows very tacky and fire exit dirty and unsafe.

Honestly NOT a criticism, we got a new member of staff, working the night shift at reception, so booking in took a while longer than it ought to have done. I understand the manager apologised in the morning. It had been a long, very difficult day for our family, but the night receptionist did do his best.
I booked this VERY last minute, after 11pm for a relative as we'd had a medical emergency and he needed somewhere to stay. He said the room and huge be were wonderful!

Our particular room: The Bothy needs some more TLC and is very small. The extractor in the bathroom didn't work, and Blinds need replacing on the window. There was only one hanger on the makeshift hanging rail.
Lovely location and friendly staff , especially Uwais in reception. Great breakfast and convenient car parking. Iron and ironing board available upon request.

The heating was on in the room and there was controls to adjust (valve missing on radiator). We opened the windows but it was still fairly warm.
The Hayloft Suite is a great room, spacious and has real wow factor.

Courtyard room too noisy. Could hear reception staff laughing and joking til quite late and had to ask them to be quiet. Bath plug broken. Water pressure too low due to a handheld shower having to be hooked up. Mould round the bath seals. Buffet breakfast very sparse and not much choice. Hot breakfast overcooked.
Good location and friendly bar staff. Nice room but noisy.
