Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.

Nothing negative at all, elderly relative would perhaps have liked a handle to help her get out of the bath.
Such a lovely place to stay, beautiful view from the rooms and very peaceful. We loved it and hope to be back soon. The owners are warm and friendly and work incredibly hard. Great location for us visiting Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall. Breakfasts were great, super range of options and dinners were beautifully cooked and presented. Really really good.

Our journey to this secluded paradise did come with its challenges. The rural road leading to the hotel has been neglected for some time, requiring us to navigate with care and patience. This aspect might deter those not prepared for a somewhat adventurous drive. Additionally, while the hotel excels in providing a tranquil getaway, it falls short in meeting the needs of business travelers when it comes to connectivity. The slow WiFi connection is not conducive to quality online meetings, which could be a significant drawback for those needing to stay connected for work purposes like me.
Tucked away in a breathtaking location, this hotel offers an unparalleled view of the surrounding natural beauty, providing a serene and picturesque escape for its guests. The Family Suite stands out for its spaciousness and immaculate cleanliness, ensuring a comfortable stay for families or groups. Absolutely gorgeous view.. the room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for the perfect stay. The bed was comfy..The food was delicious. The staff very polite and helpful.. Altogether a great atmosphere

A longer stay....
We stayed here several years ago and when one returns you always wonder if things might have changed? Here we were delighted to see that the same quality, cleanliness, comfort and attention to detail has been maintained. This is credit to the owners and also their great staff. Our supper and breakfast was prepared with care, served by lovely staff (our evening server was a school teacher....just wish i'd had her when I was at school!) who helped out and had a wonderful sunny disposition. The presentation of the cooked breakfast was excellent. A very quiet room with a great comfy bed, linen and pillows made for a great nights sleep and also some enjoyable canoodling. The bathroom is vast and spotlessly clean. We woke to snow on the hills in the distance and had a leisurely breakfast. They even had a decent quantity of fresh milk in the fridge! The owners take pride in their hospitality and it shows in everything they offer. We will return....

The sofa bed (used as a sofa) very uncomfortable to sit on. That’s the only negative thing.
