No shower door and shower fixing on wall broken. Room too hot no control setting on radiator. Unusual smell on entering room, needing an air freshener in room.

Clean room with all things needed. Friendly helpful staff. Free parking. Very close to venue and shops. Comfortable bed.

The shower wasn’t powerful at all. We couldn’t turn the heating on or up.

Location is perfect. Minutes away from the abbey. At least 4 pubs seconds away. 2 of which we went for a drink in and were really nice pubs! The Italian downstairs of the hotel was great as well. Lovely atmosphere, good food and reasonable prices. Room was comfortable enough, bed was comfey. TV worked, fridge worked and was clean enough. The man on reception was welcoming and friendly. At £53 the night, we couldn’t complain. Highly recommend visiting the cafe next to the Abbey also. Really good for coffee and cake after a night on the beers! Free parking for 24 hours was a bonus! Car park was small but we managed to get a space and didn’t have to pay! Would return.

We had a frigid room which the proprieter rapidly fixed. The bathroom had a smell that he addressed. The shower dripped, so we had to wrap it in a towel.. The hotel is in new hands, so these issues are in the process of being dealt with. My biggest disappointment was the absence of meals, but we were able to get a cheap and satisfying breakfast across the street at the bakery. The original function rooms of the hotel on the ground floor are now a very good Italian restaurant.

The building is a fine old Georgian edifice with a superb oval spiral staircase. Our room and shower room were big. The location in the main street is ideal and ut was still quiet.

It could just be my room, but the WIFI was terrible and only worked in the corridor. The curtains did not cover the window fully as the hanging rod was too short and It was difficult to keep the window open without a prop

The room had obviously hosted a wedding couple before us. There was confetti on the lamp stand and in a couple of corners - and two still-inflated balloons wedged under the bed. The whole hotel felt a little tired, but at the price we paid was still a bargain.

Booked on the day for a spontaneous break. Price was excellent and the location in Battle town centre superb. The room itself was compact but had a remarkable four-poster bed which was great fun. It was nice and quiet at the back of the hotel.

Lots of things need attention in the room, from hot water tap loose, side wall light by bed not working and loose!,shower door hanging off, curtains dont cover the windows, that's enough,a little time spent correcting these things would make it a lot more acceptable as a 'deluxe'room

New owners at the hotel are making great efforts to improve a hotel that had become badly run down. They are lovely people who appear to be making big strides as the money comes in. Reading previous reviews I feared the worst, however the room I was in was very clean, had hot and cold running water and a decent shower. The furnishings although past there sell by date and mismatched were adequate for a one night stay. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating. Good carpark.

A bit cold. I asked the staff to open the heating and he entered my room to open it without telling me when I was out. However it didn't improve the condition significantly.

Room was spacious and cosy. Near to Battle Abbey, about 5 min walk. Restaurants on the street.

Peeling wallpaper, musty, the sash window wouldn't open, cracked glass panes, dirty pillows underneath pillowcases. Broken mirror, cheap student furniture. Vintage furniture or stripped wood could smarten it up. Creepy open door. Fire rules unclear. Didn't see smart guests so unsure about mixed use. Unexpected room visits. Noisy TV on when I got to room. Staff didn't take me to room. Didn't seleep but Battle was historic and it was so far away from where I came from, and the SE is expensive so grateful.

The building is incredibly important in architectural history with spiral staircase, fine pictures, Queen Anne eye roof window, nice proportions, good looking street front, coaching horse alley, Italian restaurant downstairs. They were forgiving that I came through the restaurant not understanding there is a rear entrance. Friendly concierge turned up to plunge the toilet.
