The lift, being on the 6th floor, the lift during busy times like check out was a nightmare.

The hotel was beautiful, the smell was amazing all throughout the hotel! We were able to check in early which was great also. We were able the use the pool and spa for an hour, the room was huge. Massive comfy bed. In a great location. Would definitely stay again.

Despite the impressive entrance area, I've stopped twice now and the rooms are dated and could do with some modernising. I also found issue with the bed, for me, too soft but overall, still good value for money and I would stay again.

Room was not warm and we had loud guests in an adjoining room arguing and swearing for ten minutes around midnight when we went to bed. We called reception to complain. Room a bit small too to be honest. Mushrooms were bloody awful at breakfast.

The TV was a bit complicated for myself and elderly friend, to use TV as a smart TV required downloading an app to my phone.,but that's about it really.

Very good location, could walk to all the places we wanted to be. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel very comfortable,lovely breakfast, good sized room. Would recommend and intend to visit again.

Could do with a little tender loving car in a few places.

General feel of the property was relaxed and welcoming. Staff were friendly helpful and the breakfast was fabulous

Swim time could not be accomodated, only one option which we accepted then later were called in the room to be told we could not have the allocated time. The main reason we booked this hotel (apart from nostlgia) was due to us all loving a swim! We were offered an early mornng swim of which then had a knock-on effect to our birthday plans and added stress unfortunately. I asked for oat milk at breakfast twice and the member of staff still forgot so stuck with a black coffee! Complimentary water in room was sparkling only -no still! Who likes sparkling water -especially not children!

The reception staff presented my daughter with a card to celebrate her birthday (I had previously informed the hotel that we were staying as a birthday celebration and the hotel holds fond memories for us of when she was a child) My daughter was pleasantly surprised by the card. Our room had also been upgraded to a junior suite which was a very nice surprise.

Bar area in reception was busy but not enough staff available to meet the demand. Took an absolute age to order drinks. This was on multiple times over the 3 days spent in the hotel. The hotel is losing a fortune as it takes far too long for staff to get to the patrons. Empty glasses on tables for far too long ,shows that there is not enough staff available and that patrons leave as it takes just as long to order another drink. If they had more staff available the return on the investment would be huge for the hotel. Upgraded to a nicer room but view was a little obscured.

Lack of staff at the bar and awful service. It's a grand hotel but having the right amount of staff with the right attitude would help greatly.

The hotel was beautiful with stunning architecture. The reception and concierge staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was central and near lots of places to eat, drink and visit.

The hotel checkin in system was down requiring manual check-in and a 25 min wait.

Wonderful room in 541. Small suite in fact which was unexpected. Ideal location for my visit next to Manchester Central and good breakfast.

Very little I didn't like, but I have to mention the doors in the room, both the access door and to the WC were old and needed replacing. That's it!

Such a great hotel, I haven't stayed for a while at a hotel with such spirit and service. Great location and excellent value for money. Lovely spa and pool area and the gym is very spacious. I wished we tried the breakfast but next time !

I would have scored top marks on everything but for some reason we were allocated a room with a wet room/disabled facilities bathroom with a tiny wash hand basin (room 214) As we were only staying for one night didn't request a different room but felt it was inappropriate and if we stay again would put in a request regarding the room but feel this should not be necessary and therefore felt the pricing was excessive as we walked passed all the other rooms which were being cleaned which had a proper bathroom with separate shower etc.

Didn't have breakfast but loved the hotel and facilities. Lovely staff.

Bathroom wasn't well presented. Poor shower, cracks in ceiling. Bar staff were slow despite it being pretty empty around the bar.

We upgraded our room but it was an ‘accessible type’ so the bathroom was a bit odd. There was a seat in the shower but then a fixed shower head over so had to stoop to wash my hair! And the whole bathroom was soaked
