As an old building the floor sloped in my room, but you got used too it. Only 1 pillow per person. And no sockets or USB points near the bed. For the size of the room the tv was a bit on the small side. Went for dinner in the pub with a friend, both ordered steak but were then told after 5 minutes or so they didn't have any steaks... think the menu on the app should be updated and showing sold out... but it was a reasonable price, didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. All in all I'd stay again.

Not too far to walk from train station, in a good area, was pretty quiet at night, didn't hear anyone moving about.

My evening meal was very substandard and, having pre-booked my table and time, they served all the walk-in customers before me, making me wait 90 minutes for my meal.

Terribly understaffed. 1 person was front desk and bartender. No manager. Wanted to extend my stay but they were too busy to answer me. Stayed at the john Russell fox the following 2 nights.

The rooms themselves were in need of some attention in regard to their condition. Unfortunately the shower gel container was empty and the bathroom didn't feel especially clean. Tried to book a table prior to our visit and it is an automated booking system and it said a slot was unavailable for a chosen time so having then placed an enquiry I had no reply to that via text or through messaging on booking. On arrival we booked breakfast for the following morning however unfortunately we then chose not to eat as the coffee machine didn't work and it was the same instant coffee as supplied in the room and cups were not the cleanest. I feel that the room as provided wasn't the best value. I am particular though so it may suit others.

Onsite parking was perfect. It is located within the town so plenty of eateries close by but noise didn't effect us being a busy Saturday night The bed itself was comfortable and a fan was provided as it was extraordinarily hot in the room.

The beer prices were extortionate, no wonder it was an empty bar (the rest of town was buzzing for a Friday night). Despite 'Pedigree' being Marston's signature beer, not a drop to be seen in this establishment. This seems to be a theme with Marston's Hotels. Don't put our best beer on for sale. Rooms ok, but a bit tired. Creaky floorboards and rattly pipes are to be expected in an old building, so the warning notice says. Two teabags, but half a dozen coffee sachets, I'm sure I could have asked for more. But, couldn't be bothered going back downstairs.

Good location, with parking. Although I feel I got lucky with a space. The town is on the doorstep and there some other great pubs within walking distance to visit. Room was ok. The food prices looked reasonable, for a chain pub. But I ate elsewhere.

The shower was a little dodgy and weak but did the job. It was difficult to get the attention of the staff some times. I wanted to ask about leaving a bag but I got ignored when rininging the service bell whilst I could hear them talking business arround the corner. I had to give up and leave.

Great location right in the centre of town. The building has lots of character and the rooms were big and well decorated.

Sometimes it can noisy depending on which room you have but you are staying in a pub so to be expected. It didn't spoil our trip.

Nice decent sized room at the front of the hotel. Had everything we needed. We have stayed here before and this room was by far our favourite. The staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful and nothing was a problem.

It's an old pub, it creaks, especially the floorboards in our room which made us laugh. Great place to stay and a really good breakfast. Such a comfortable bed too, the best one on our whole trip. Thank you!
