Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing
A little bit of magic. Saw this on Four in a Bed and loved the look of it. And we weren’t disappointed. Tucked away behind flora and foliage, and at this time of year, fairy lights, we were delighted by our first sight. Parking is limited but we were lucky to get the spot immediately outside and our home for three nights was the Camelot. The door is on the side of the house and is entered by a passcode. We had been given very comprehensive instructions for everything, from parking to operating the heating and it was very easy to move in and feel at home immediately. You must look at the photos to see what an amazing, quirky place this is. It isn’t 5* luxury or wall to wall chic but my goodness it’s much better. Every room is crowded with ’stuff’ and it’s a joy to wander around just looking. The living room is comfortable, warm and has the use of excellent WiFi and tv. There is a kitchen area, with microwave, tea/coffee etc and small fridge. There is no running water downstairs. Odd. But it was never a problem. Bottled water is provided and a lovely lady comes at noon each day to wash any of the plates, bowls, cups etc, restocking biscuits and anything else you need. The stairs are a challenge, I won’t lie, but definitely worth the effort. The bathroom has a good size bath and lashings of hot water and there is a shower in it’s own cupboard in the bedroom And the bedroom, wow. The most comfortable bed (four poster) with the most amazing linen that we have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in And please don’t be put off by there not being breakfast. A two minute walk takes you to the village and there are endless places to eat. Our go to was the Village Cafe. Brilliant

United KingdomNothing. The stay met all expectations
The location. The cottage was beautiful. Full of history and interesting quirky items. The four poster bed was huge and very comfortable. The manager/owners were lovely and told us all about the history and town, gave us tips on where to go and eat in the area. If you want something different, privacy or a romantic setting you can't beat the Wizards Thatch. We will be back.

United KingdomThere is nothing not to like really. Property is very specific, wizard/warlock/fairy/magic way;-)) Inside is pretty tide but even when you talk and rather large build and clumsy/I’m 6’6” and over 20st/ you can still easily move around. One thing was a bed. Beautiful and comfy but short, again short for me;-))
Property is located on one of the main roads in Alderney Edge but to get inside you need to really look for it. It is like getting inside “secret garden” Beautiful, quiet, with enormous amount of character. No wonder there. Property is over 400 years old. Fantastic place. I’ll be coming back there.
