Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Kenya1. The hotel doesn't have POS that can use international ATM visa cards. - During admission, i used the local POS to make payments but when i wanted to extend my stay, i could not be allowed to use the POS and that caused a commotion with the reception staff on duty who insisted on provision of international zip code to be allowed to pay for extension. That was embarrassing!! 2. The rooms definitely need an upgrade! Tamala is beautiful but the rooms look old and not very inviting
The ambience, the beach, entertainment, very friendly restaurant staff.

Tamala Beach Resort is truly impressive — the design is beautiful, the location is ideal, and the surrounding scenery is stunning. The staff are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and responsive, which adds greatly to the overall experience. The food is enjoyable, and the facilities meet expectations. Everything was great, aside from some minor signs of wear and tear.

United KingdomWhen we checked in we went on the balcony and got locked outside due sliding door lock was faulty, 2 guests went to reception for help and it took 45 mins for a member of staff to attend. The faulty lock was replaced the following day. The chair covers on the balcony and on sofa in room were filthy and the pillows did not have pillow cases. This rectified the following day. My cousins room door didn’t lock nor did her balcony door. The was repaired the following day. All of the above should have been addressed before we checked in, I will say the staff were eager to rectify the issues however, it was quite unsettling to be met with all these issues on the first day. I would also suggest an additional toaster in the dining area also more bins to be stationed around the hotel
Very spacious and lots of room

United KingdomA little far from anything else around so likely your only real option for food and drinks most of the time, which is a little frustrating given the prices they charge for them.

United KingdomI had an upset stomach for 5 days and we only ate food and drank at the hotel. We paid for a private pool with a sea view which was dirty and full of rubbish from the trees and beach. The weather was windy while we were there but no attempt was made to try and clean the pool.
Food was good, the layout of the hotel was good and spacious and seating was comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. The whole experience was very relaxing and enjoyable.

SpainThe place is definitely in need of some maintenance and the rooms/bathrooms/gym/spa are quite run down. The dinner restaurant is incredibly slow and the menu was limited with many items missing each day. But compared to the rest of the country and the condition of things it was paradise. So as long as one has expectation in line and recognizes it is all relative then I would say it was excellent for Africa.
Breakfast was good. The landscaping and vies are beautiful and the pools were wonderful. Also the staff all were very respectful , helpful and went out of their way to help us.

GermanyThe security personnel promised to investigate the theft of my watch (and, how I found out later, of my electric beard trimmer) and screen the surveillance camera videos. In spite of my mail written to General Manage4 Victor... I heard nothing! This was a disappointment for me!

GermanyWe had a few problems with the room and management/reception took way too long to solve them, we even had to ask twice for some issues. The restaurant in the resort was very slow in our experience, to serve as well as to prepare the food.
Nicely planned hotel resort right at the beach, with great swimming pool facilities. Good price, speaking as a European. Staff were friendly, not intrusive. Felt safe there, everything was clean. Breakfast was great. I guess this is one of the best hotels you can stay at in The Gambia.
