If you want the ideal romantic hotel in Santorini you are in the right place. We spent 2 wonderful days, enjoying the wonderful view , the amazing facilities and the very good service of the accommodation! The view of the caldera , the private hot tab the comfy Sun lounger with cooling cocktails from the pool bar , surrounding by buddha bar music and the kindness of the staff with outstanding customer service , will win you over! One of the best decisions we ever made. Oia Mare Villas was the perfect place to relax and enjoy life. The suite ( we were in a hot tab suite) was cosy and super clean with cycladic design and comfortable queen size bed, with high - speed free Wi-Fi , the staff was so nice and so helpful . The view is incredible and the location is very convenient to go anywhere in the village . Probably the best sunset view in Santorini . A breakfast buffet consists of a long table or counter where guests can serve themselves various items . A typical buffet will include items like muffins , croissants, toast , and other baked goods ; hot items such as sausages, bacon, fried potatoes or hash browns, scrambled eggs, etc.; fruit, yogurt, and cereals. Not only do I highly recommend , we are planning another visit next year with friends . Surprising! p.s. Don't miss the catamaran cruise .

There are many cats in Oia in general, I didn’t like to have one in the balcony of the room since I’m afraid of cats.

The location was great, you can see the Oia Sunset from the hot tub of your room, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

There isn’t a lot of privacy but I think that’s everywhere in the boutique style cave villas. So don’t expect to enjoy complete romantic seclusion on your balcony or in your jacuzzi as other suites are very close and door traffic goes straight past/through your balcony. Although we we lucky that we only had one suite the other side of us that walked past (even they commented how awkward it felt for them to walk so close past us in our jacuzzi to get to theirs lol) but this didn’t bother us as we were too immersed in the amazing views but it may bother those wanting complete privacy

Location, friendly staff, amazing room and view and the breakfast was incredible. They even provided us with a tray of breakfast foods the night before our departure as we had an early flight and would miss the breakfast window which was so thoughtful

The breakfast could have been better. The first morning we had breakfast and it was an 8 out of 10. Food seemed freshish and the potatoes and eggs were warm. The following mornings after unfortunately were not like the first morning. The pastries were stale, the eggs and potatoes were cold. After 2 more mornings we decided to eat elsewhere. In the meanwhile visiting Oia was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I got married and brought my bouquet back to the room. We had them drying out and were going to pack a few roses for keep sake. The morning of check out- which is 10am. Around 8am we went down to the breakfast area for about 20 minutes to sit with our friends. We came back up to our room around 830am and the cleaning crew had already stripped the beds, started mopping, and THREW AWAY MY BOUQUET! We had NOT checked out as we still were waiting for our driver and had over an hour before 10am. I was very upset that we simply stepped away for less than 30 minutes and without letting anyone know we were checking out. I mentioned to the cleaning crew and they did not speak English- so my flowers were trashed.

Absolutely breathtaking views at this location. I enjoyed the hot tub after lots of walking and stairs during the day. I thought the space of the room was laid out very nicely.

This is obviously not something the property can control and if you are staying in Oia, you need to be prepared for almost regardless of where you are staying, but the stairs up/down to the main street take some careful navigation - especially during the mid-day crowds.

It's generally hard to express how pleased and happy we were with our stay here. I obviously knew what accommodation I had booked and where it was located, but it was a wonderful case of the photos and descriptions online not even coming close to doing justice to how beautiful this location was and how unique and special the room was. I will start with the fact that we chose to use the villa's transfer service between the ferry port and villa simply because it was easy to book through Oia Mare Villas. Given the distance and drive from the ferry port to Oia and then the trip down part of the famous stairs to where Oia Mare Villas is located, the cost of the transfer service was probably some of the best money we spent on our two-week trip. We were met at the start of the pedestrian only area by someone to help us navigate through the main town to the accommodations, including carrying our luggage, which is a feat that I think you can only understand once you've seen it done. And to top it off, every single person we interacted with was so wonderfully friendly and gracious. We arrived several hours late due to a delayed ferry, so by the time we got to check-in, we were tired, frazzled and a bit stressed. The staff were simply lovely and so gracious. In particular, Ally (Allay?) was so caring and kind every time we interacted with him, he always had a warm greeting and wonderfully kind demeanor. And then we saw our room, which again, I had seen pictures of online, but you really can't describe until you've seen it in person and understand what it's like to sleep in a wonderfully comfortable bed, in a cave in the caldera.....and then wake up to sit on the balcony and look out over the stairs down to Amoudi Bay and the bay itself.

The only real complaint was the mattress. It was very hard and hurt my back. But other, than that, everything was great!

View and location exceptional! Yes there is lots of climbing but that is to be expected. The breakfast was okay and had enough variety. The only down side was that there was little to no staff who came around to the pool and patio chairs to take food and drink orders but not a huge deal.

To get to this glorious location you need to navigate a lot of steep steps which can be exhausting in the heat and not for the frail or those with dicky knees

The room was lovely with a local cottage feel, separate bedroom and shuttered windows. The front porch has the best, uninterrupted sunset view at the very tip of Oia

Very few “extra’s” for the price paid. For example, 1x bottle of water is left in your room on the first evening only. Given the tap water isn’t drinkable, and a walk into town is up numerous flights of stairs, this is something minor that could has improved our experience throughout our stay.

Accessibility could be a challenge. It takes about 150 steps to get to the main promenade. At least 50 of the steps, which are part of the stairway to the Amoudi Bay, are not flat: they slope downward. The bright Sun can make the walk significantly more challenging. This issue needs to be stated up front while advertising: this is also true for many other properties around. We got used to it during our stay on the positive side, it made for healthy living! Breakfast offerings and quality are poor.
