Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe only thing I didn’t like about our room was that it smelt a bit of damp or maybe bad plumbing issue, so we always opened our windows when we entered the room to reduce the smell. Maybe the hotel should put some air fresheners in rooms which suffer from this problem. They had very nice diffusers in the lobby area which made that area smell lovely and welcoming so they could maybe do the same for the rooms. Also we were a bit surprised to find that our room only had a view of acropolis from the balcony and not from the within the room as the description in booking.com suggested that one could see it (just to add the views from within the room were still amazing). When I complained about this the staff members explained that on their direct site it does mention that the view of acropolis is lateral and they did try to rectify the matter by offering us some nice rooms but they were in the floors below and not as nice as the ones already allocated to us, as our rooms on the 5th floor seemed to be more recently renovated and had better views so we decided to keep the initial rooms offered but were grateful that they made attempts to keep us happy which they continued to do throughout our stay.
Great location in one of Athens’ nice neighbourhoods that is also close to the sites and shopping areas however the actual neighbourhood is nice and quiet and away from the maddening crowds ;) There are a few nice restaurants close by. Wonderful and extra friendly staff who were always happy to help and give us great advice about restaurants etc. There is even a small cinema room in the lobby that guests can use for free and watch DVDs there, which was nice for our group after a long day of site seeing with different age groups. Last but not least and the most important selling point I would say is the view from the upstairs restaurant/breakfast room area, which has wonderful panoramic views of all or most of Athens including acropolis and the sea far behind. It was wonderful and we spent every evening around sunset time there having tea or drinks and watching the lovely sunset. It was amazing. Most guests did the same when they could. Thank you to all the wonderful hotel staff who were so attentive and patient with our demanding group, you were so lovely and friendly and made our stay so pleasant :)

Australiaonly one lift was operating at the time.
I didnt have acropolis view, however i had a view of a stunning architecturally designed apartment building. I even showed friends back home. The room was a good size for me and i had the most amazing view of the city and the acropolis at breakfast. The breakfast was fairly good for a European hotel and the staff where pleasant and accommodating.

IrelandWould have been nice for the pool to be open as it was mid to high 20s during our stay. Rooms were a bit small (although still comfy). Only one lift working so if you were going up to breakfast at peak times you could be waiting a while.
Staff were really helpful, breakfast buffet had loads of choice. Views were amazing, especially from the bar/restaurant and it was nice to watch the sun go down with a cocktail. We also made use of the spa and had a massage and facial with Cristina and her colleague, these were exceptional.

United Arab EmiratesThe actual room was big but not very comfortable. Room felt very dated.Staff were not very friendly or welcoming.Didn’t offer any advice or suggestions for a first trip to Athens. The pool was closed for renovations and that was not disclosed on the website and when I mentioned not being very happy, I was told the pool use was seasonal.
The view from the balcony on our room was amazing. Breakfast was good and the choice was great. Delicious pastries available.

United KingdomThe child's bed was a little unstable (it fell down at one end when my daughter sat on it), but it was still comfortable for her.
Our room was spacious, even with the child bed in it - and the main bed was a great size. The view from the balcony was amazing and it was very quiet. All the service was great, and we were particularly delighted with the valet parking service which was excellent.

GreeceDescription of the room at booking was misleading. It was described as having a view to Lycabetus/city view but we were given a room having a view to a balcony of an apartment block opposite the hotel. After complaining we were changed and the room was with a better view to lycabetus hill.
Very good location nearby restaurants and Kolonaki shopping area. Nice breakfast at the rooftop with excellent surround view of acropolis, Athens reaching to the sea

CyprusOur stay had some highlights, but a few aspects left room for improvement. Despite a diverse and tasty breakfast, the buffet wasn't warm enough, a point worth addressing. Despite paying for a room with a view, we were disappointed to find ourselves on the first floor, where a tree obstructed the promised view of Acropolis and since our room wasnt high enough, the Lycabettus view wasn’t what we expected. I've attached a photo of the rooftop (outside) view and also the view from our room (bedroom) to compare the two. Attempts were made to upgrade to a higher floor, to multiple members of the staff but we were unsuccessful. The staff said they would inform us if an upgrade was possible but did not. So overall, try to contact the hotel beforehand so you don’t waste extra money trying to secure a view and get what we got. The room itself was decent with a spacious bed, cleanliness, a small balcony, and a bathtub. However, the TV was outdated (so don’t expect any netflix or movie options). One of the things I definitely want to comment on was the absence of a full-body mirror. There is a mirror in the room and in the bathroom but not a full body one. Additionally, the pool was closed during our New Year's visit, despite the summer-like weather, however, this was mentioned beforehand on booking.com, so make sure you read through announcements first if it makes a difference to you. The gym, though small and lacking equipment, somewhat compensated through the city's walkability. Overall, our stay was pleasant, but addressing breakfast temperature issues, updating amenities, and ensuring accurate room assignments are crucial for an improved experience.
The hotel's exceptional location (Kolonaki) was close to all main restaurants and shops we intended to visit, which added an unparalleled convenience to our stay as we went everywhere on foot. Quite tiring on the way up since Lycabettus is a ‘small hill’ but totally worth it! The breakfast venue featured a stunning view, it was really breathtaking! We went to the restaurant multiple times and enjoyed the remarkable view day and night. Amidst these positives, the bed's impressive size was a notable highlight, providing not only ample space but also an exceptionally comfortable sleep. Collectively, our experience at the hotel was very positive. They also have options for your pillow. There’s an actual pillow menu!

GreeceUnfortunately my experience staying for 2 nights during a weekend was full of inconsistencies. My first point of contact with the hotel staff was with the valet at the parking facility. I called the hotel in advance to secure a parking spot and I was encouraged to go directly to the parking facility from where I could get my stuff to the reception. I arrived at the facility at around midnight after 5 hrs of driving, where I was greeted with the most inappropriate behavior by the hotel's valet/parking manager. After a couple of minutes and as I was grabbing my belongings from the cabin, I was rushed to get my stuff out so he can get the car down to its parking spot as there were other customers waiting to get their car up to depart. I told him I understand they may be waiting, but I just arrived to the hotel I have booked a room at and I need a few minutes to unload and get ready to move to the reception without stress. His response was "you booked a room sir, you don't own the hotel" and he encouraged me to leave and park somewhere else if I didn't like it. He also got my luggage out of my car's boot and he placed them on the side. In doing so, not only didn't he ask for my permission to move my stuff but he also forgot one suitcase which I later had to take from the -3 flour in retrospect in the early hours. I kept my composure and complained to the reception about this incident as it is not my job to confront their staff. The receptionist said a quick sorry and the security guy came asking to describe who that person was, his physique. Inadequate at least I have to say.. I have to mention that the other valet staff I communicated throughout the days I stayed were kind and helpful. Same applies for the cleaning personnel and the concierge. The point here is that from a 5-star hotel experience, I demand no stress, no pressure, zero confrontations. I want relaxation and comfort.
St. George Lycabettus is an icon. I have memories of visiting or staying at the hotel since I was a child. The location is prime. Some of the rooms have a spectacular view of the Acropolis, even from the 1st flour as the hotel is at a vantage point on the hill. The roof top restaurant where the meals (incl. breakfast) are served has an even better view. The room was spacious enough and the balcony is great to have. The amenities are sufficient. I ordered breakfast as room service and it was fantastic!
