Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomFor the price don't expect more than you pay for. It's a hostel with 2-3-4 bed rooms not a hotel. If your expectations are realistic, it's not much to dislike really.
Location can't be better in the heart of Bp walking distance from the Nyugati Pu. that is most convenient train station to the airport.

United KingdomBed sheets were clean but a bit uncomfortable
The guy at the reception seemed like he was going through it but still was very kind - offered us a quieter location for the room as he had just had a large group check in. Explained some useful information about the area. Great location - very central and can walk anywhere.

RomaniaEven though the building looks old, the room as well as the shared bathrooms are very clean; it is actually the second time I book this place and I would definitely go for it on my next trips to Budapest. Moreover, It’s really quiet during the night.

PolandThe room is small and dark. The walls are thin so if you are a light sleeper you may have trouble sleeping. There was also noise from the street. We only met one person from the staff and he was unpleasant and mocking. From the outside the building looks really terrible like it has been abandoned for years, The payment was only in cash.
The main advantage of the hotel was the location - on foot you can go to important objects like the parliament. Also there is a subway station close to the hotel. The kitchen needs renovation, but it is functional and pretty well equipped.

AustraliaThe man at reception was not very friendly at all. He demanded we pay in cash for our stay, as “there were issues with the bank and eftpos machine”. It seemed very scammy. I was very disappointed, as we barely had enough cash to cover our stay and have always paid with card to track our payments. The spent the entire time complaining about the banks and about Hungary. The room itself was terrible; bad lighting, very creaky beds, no AC, and the shared bathrooms and toilets were horrible and not very clean at all.
The only good thing was the location and that there was a kitchen (not a very good one)

New ZealandBeds were without much comfort at all (hard), and creaky. Had to pay in cash, excuses for EFTPOS terminal not working seemed suss. Noise travels easily, conversations from across the hall can be heard
Wifi situation was great. Subsequent building access was a breeze.

SlovakiaThe personal or manager working at the reception was not in a mood and haven't shown us the facilities normally. The bed in the room was hard as brick The bathroom is so dirty we didn't risk to shower there. It smelled really bad. For the money on 1 night I think it was too much. U can find better in the city.
The location It's 20 min walk to Fashion Street The room was clean and there was a fan It was quite at night To room was big The key will open everything so it was pretty simple.

United KingdomOn arrival it really felt like it was too much effort for the door staff to check us in. He was so rude I almost asked him if he was ok, or if something was wrong. There was no smile, hello or welcome, just rolling eyes and audible sighs. A loud harumph and sarcasm when I didnt understand the card reader which works differently from the UK. Perhaps an attempt at dry wit or annoyance that I didnt speak Hungarian. Either way, I was really tired finishing up a full day cycle in 35 degree heat and felt very unwelcome. The mattress was also rock hard and lumpy.
This is a passable budget hotel. As expected for the price the decor is simple, hostel style entrance and shared bathrooms. The shower was powerful and everything would have been just fine for the price if not for rude staff and very uncomfortable mattress.

United KingdomIt was echo-y, imposing, loud, uncomfortable, and was about as welcoming as a prison; it even came complete with barred windows and padded corridors. The staff were unsmiling at best, and often belittling and rude.
Location was decent, easy to hop on and off the train as well as having lots of shops nearby and a couple of parks. The showers were large.

ThailandEverything was just off. Rang the bell for as long as possible. Made phone calls but no response. Returned in about 2 hours later to face the same problems. By chance, an elderly woman who cleans shows up to open the door. The man in charge later came and started acting weird and rude. The room stinks and reverberates every movement and echoed conversations. No towels. Bed looks like for the dead. Bathrooms could be mistaken for the bedroom as another guest mistakenly opened my bedroom.
I wish to give a minus. The man is rude and lacks hospitality skills. The house itself looks like a ghost house. I wonder why this place is still accepting guests until June 2023. I recommend that you look elsewhere for your memorable stays in this awesome Budapest!
