Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandHost was very grumpy, after we paid on arrival, he didn't give me receipt. Once I asked him, he didn't knew what I mean (so I guess people don't ask for receipts?) Beds were horrible, old mattress, which felt like sleeping on the floor. In lobby and kitchen, sits of chairs were done out of shelves. Place smelled not good (like cheap hostel) and I, some old onion in kitchen shelve (for me it means noone cleans old stuff left by guests). Atmosphere of place like you want to run away :( It was cheap, but I would not like to come back, even for this price
Cheap and location was good. Bathrooms were not that bad compared to the rest of facilities.

Belarus1. The room was dirty and there was a dirty smell in it 2. There is absolutely no sound insulation, everything that happens on the other end of the corridor is audible 3. The windows are sealed with film and the room is dark even during the day I wanted to change the room as soon as I saw it, but they told me that all the rooms are the same. After that I asked to make a refund and said I didn't want to stay here, but they refused me
Good location near the railway station

IrelandExtremely thin walls - you can hear every conversation, cough, fart and snore. Awful mattresses. Really uncomfortable. Too few toilets for that many people. Fine if you're just there to party, otherwise no.

United KingdomNot enough bathrooms for amount of guests (2 loos for 20+ people). Kitchen outdated and not enough equipment. Missing ceiling tiles in bathroom/shower area. Old and thin bed mattress so it was uncomfortable to sleep on. Needs updating and bringing into the 21st century.
The staff were very nice and the bedroom was okay. You get what you pay for.

Czech RepublicOn our room was only one electrical outlet, so u should have a powerbank to charge more devices at once. We fortunately did have one, but someone might have a problem with it.
For the price it´s absolutely ok. Room was clean, it smelled a litlle but we opened the window and it was ok. Toilets and showers were clean and water was warm enough.. Idk what more would u want for the price. The receptionist didn´t speak English but she - after a while of talking - understood that we want to pay separatly and it wasn´t a problem at all. So overall, for the money very good, but if u want luxury, u gotta pay more. btw I paid 33 € for 3 nights :D

GermanyThere were only two toilets and two showers for a whole floor (about 20-30 people). In addition the facilities were very dirty with hairs all over the floor. None of the staff spoke proper English, which made it very difficult to communicate with them. When we arrived at 23:30 they wanted us to pay directly, but because of our late arrival we hadn’t had the chance to change into the hungarian currency. It took us about 10 minutes to explain that we would change the money the next morning and give it to them then.. When we came back to our room the next day, we found ants all over the floor. Furthermore the heater was turned up all the way and we weren’t able to change the temperature in the room. We had to ask one of the staff members to turn it off at the central heating. Overall it was a very unsatisfying and disappointing stay. We do not recommend going there!!

GermanyThe beds were horrible, they were so hard, it felt like sleeping on the floor. A bin in the bedroom was missing. The showers and toilets were really dirty … I recommend flip flops and showering in the morning, when the staff „cleaned“ them. There was no air conditioner, hence it was pretty hot at night. We also couldn‘t leave the windows open at night, because of the noisy street and because the room was on the ground floor, therefore we were afraid someone could get into our room while we‘re asleep. The windows were pretty weird, because there were windows in front of the windows … if you would see it, you know what I‘m talking about. Because of the weird window construction it was difficult to get fresh air into the room. Because of the street lights and because there were no jealousy, it was always bright in our room at night. The walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbors snore and also the streets were noisy, so getting sleep was kinda difficult. We stayed in a lot of hostels in Europe, but that was by far the most horrible one …
The staff was friendly. The Donau and important sightseeing attractions are 20 min away by foot.

SlovakiaI wrote a message to this hostel (in advance) that my arrival time is 02:00 and I received back “ok, not a problem”. What happened? I came to Budapest at the night at 01:55 however there is not anyone!!! There is no staff! Is it normal? I knocked on the door during 35-40 minutes while some guest (!) opened me! The whole staff was sleeping! That's awful... Pay attention when booking a room in this hostel especially at night time because you will probably have a lot of problems
