Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe room we were first put in was odd. Very narrow, could barely fit down the sides of the bed. The windows and shower had black mold growing on them. The fuse box made a loud buzzing sound in the room. Felt like we had paid a lot but been given the worst room. This was an important stay for us so weren't happy about that. I managed to get them to put us in a better room but felt I shouldn't have had to ask especially when paying top rate.
It's a lovely building, central and charming

FranceWe were not informed of the check-out time when checking-in and were unable to prolong our stay by 1 hr. When I recovered our bags, the man didn't offer to help me with the 3 suitcases (my husband stayed with the car), I was a bit taken aback. Also, the set-down area outside seems to be constantly blocked off by the ropes - seems rather counter-productive.
Beautiful room and good breakfast. Beautiful establishment and sense of history. Great location. Free upgrade and thoughtful gifts left in our room (although the fridge wasn't cold, so the drinks were warm!)

United KingdomRang for replacement iron (not working in room) and this was never delivered. Cooked breakfast was poor - over cooked elements like the rock hard sausages made us laugh but weren’t edible (they were replaced without question)
Helpful and polite concierge service when dealing with luggage and parking. Comfortable bed and good shower.

IrelandThe carpet and decor in bedroom hallways is a bit dated and could do with renewal. Some of the avocado on my breakfast was a bit brown which I don't think should have been served.
The location is fantastic. They upgraded us to the suite as it was our anniversary which was so nice! The spa is lovely too. Staff very friendly and helpful.

IrelandOur room was tired and dated. Bathroom needs updating. I was a little disappointed that our two night stay for €490 didn’t come with a king-size bed and more updated room.
Beautiful old-world hotel in a fantastic location in the city centre. The staff we encountered were great, especially Harun at breakfast. He deserves a special mention due to his kindness of manner and attention to detail, a very genuine person who brings a gentle touch to hospitality. Breakfast was very good and in a lovely setting. The newly refurbished bar is a comfortable and stylish spot. The Douglass lounge is a great addition to the hotel.

RomaniaThe carpets were very dirty, cold water didn’t work in the shower in room 212; the TV signal was really bad with freeze screens and the room floors are tilted.

United KingdomThe reception staff didn’t acknowledge visitors unless talking to you. In their screens all the time. Gym poorly maintained. Dirty towels left from day before and water not replaced. When went to ask for one course at restaurant on Saturday night told at 9pm not serving but after pushing a bit we’re told as a favour they would serve us. Really not good for your reputation.
