Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Towels were clean but had makeup and other black stains.
Location was walkable to down town, we took advantage of the parking on site- 15€ per night. Bed was comfortable and room was clean and tidy.

Had to pay for parking 30 euro extra , feel because parking is outside door of property should be included . Greeting from host stand off ish , asked for iron , she went into our room to remove it later that evening, think she should have 1 for every room as there is only about 10 rooms. Did not like the fact she felt she could come and go as she pleased through our room while we were not there

Hidden costs - it may say parking available, but it is €15 and this was not communicated until after the booking, nor was it guaranteed.
Good enough location for attending events in Galway, room was spotless and comfortable.

Large room with three double beds and ensuite. Great location less than 10 mins walk to Eyre Square. Would definitely stay again.

The water pressure in the shower of the room was fairly non-existent.
Property was lovely, close to city centre and comfortable. Owner was really great with communication and helping with directions. Parking on site was easy.

The owner didn't provide luggage storage even though she appeared to be living on the premises, so we had to use paid storage lockers at the bus station. There is very weak water pressure in the shower. Pillows are rather uncomfortable.
Easy check-in, check-out. Nice, quiet, and clean place. Two kettles with plenty of tea and coffee. Nice panorama view from the window.

The property has a car park but charge €15 per night to leave your car. It’s on a busy road so no off street parking available. I paid as we had been travelling all day and just wanted to park up. I feel that this charge is overpriced and ours was the only car there.
The house is near the town. Clean We had a room at the back. No views of the river but no road noise either. It’s on a busy road

The hotel is on a large road so that noise is inevitable but very faint and not a problem at night.

We had some trouble with controlling the temperature of the shower.
The location was great, just a 15 minute walk from the city center and all of the fun pubs. The view was lovely and the room was comfortable.

It would be nice to be able to drop off bags before the 16:00 check in, but we knew ahead of time it wasn’t possible and found stored our luggage elsewhere. The WiFi was inconsistent, which did make it difficult for both of us to do some necessary tasks.
The room and location were both very good and what we expected. Although the property was on a busy road, the house itself is set back far enough that we didn’t hear the noise. It was an easy walk to the central bus station and to where we wanted to go as tourists. The property owner was friendly based on the brief interaction we had with her.

A bit longer walk than I expected but wouldn't have been so horrible except for rain. Also, apparently some system to turn hot water down at night. I support conserving energy but should be a notice for same. Due to work, I came in at night, worked till 2 AM (time zones) and then went to shower, however water wouldn't be very hot by then. Just let guests know
Using a top sheet on bed was wonderful. Too many just use comforter which is too hot. A bit of a walk in the rain to get there, but so be it

The shower was very hot. If you want to have a cold shower you’re out of luck. It’s a stretch to call a kettle and tea bags and coffee sachets a kitchenette.
It was a nice room and handy to the town.

There was no water pressure which made showing a large family difficult.
