Excellent breakfast and restaurant food. Staff very good, free bicycles available, pool and gym very good, spacious and bright interior. Location is good, easy walk to town centre or to ring road by car.

The room was advertised to have a fridge in the room and there was no fridge in the room. This was very disappointing as I was travelling with 2 kids who were attending a summer camp in offaly and I needed to send them off with packed lunches every day and alot of our food went off because of no fridge facility. I didn't complain at the time as I had already unpacked for the week and wasn't willing to move room at that point but if advertised it should be included, I spent alot of money there that week. Kids meals were also not good in the bar/restaurant. My kids left them behind. Staff were not overly friendly in all areas of the hotel but they weren't rude either.

Family room was a nice size. Housekeeping did a great job every day. Very clean rooms and nicely presented. We enjoyed the proximity to town, the ample parking and the swimming pool. The local park was amazing for the kids and only a 5 minute walk from the hotel so this was also ideal.

There was a really sweet (and unpleasant) smell in one room, like carpet cleaner or something. We had two rooms, only one had this issue.

Staff are lovely, swimming pool and sauna/steam room are great. It's an easy walk to the town and there are bikes we borrowed to cycle the canal.

Check-in was fast and the staff were very friendly. Room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable, I was asleep in minutes!!. Next morning ran a bath, and the water was roasting!!. Check out was as pleasant and fast. No complaints what so ever.

There was only one fault - it was too hot in the room at night. We didn’t use the duvets at all and we have two small children, both under 2 years old. On the second evening I spoke to the girl at reception and she said that there was no air conditioning but there was a fan in every wardrobe. We hadn’t looked into the wardrobes. So that made a huge difference on the second night and it was much more comfortable. I’m sure if it was Winter there would be no issue

It was extremely clean, notably so. It is a slightly older building but they do not skimp on cleaning. The staff were all so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. There is a real homely feel from the moment you arrive at reception. The food was great, reasonable, staff were brilliant with our two babies. In the pool the changing room was so clean, there was someone cleaning the floor both times we used the facilities to keep the floor dry. The pool itself was brilliant for the little ones, they loved the baby pool and the water feature/waterfalls in the big pool

I could hear through the adjoining wall the room beside me which was a bit distracting and woke me up during the night.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and the rooms were very comfortable. The shower was lovely and the breakfast was good.

No air conditioning - extremely disappointing and did affect our stay due to the uncomfortable room temperature- to the point of making my young grandchildren overheat. We did eventually receive a 2nd fan for the room but didn’t help much. Was disappointing for a 4* hotel. Ate once in the restaurant and even though the food was very good - the fact we waited 50 minutes for our order and twice had different tables meals brought to us ruined the restaurant experience. We were told the reason for the delay and poor service was due to the waitress being new and not knowing the table plan and also that it was because we order steak! Apparently it takes longer to cook a steak!!!

The staff were fantastic- especially David on reception- every time we returned from our days out he greeted me by name! If this guy hasn’t yet been nominated for the employee of the month or year then I am doing so now! He needs to have that parking space out front!!

The bedroom was disappointing - very hot with little impact by the fan provided. The bathroom had cracked tiles and there was mould in the shower.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There was a wide range of tasty food.
