They use a lot of insecticides I guess, to keep away bugs and other flying creatures. And our driver complained about the slushy parking area and lack of facilities for drivers, compared to other resorts in the area.

The place is lovely, the location superb, adjoining the back waters. The pool is the longest in India, and I enjoyed swimming across the length of it! The staff are very friendly, and the food is great. The poolside cottages are great and definitely worth the extra. The spa is also huge and well designed.

AC ducts were not clean, bathroom ventilation was not working properly and it was bit dusty. Moisture from AC was dripping inside one of the rooms (407). Food was average. Food options can be limited but quality need to be improved. Example , We orderered Mushroom fry , it was too salty. Ordered sweet lassi for kids but we received salt lassi, fruit salad with icecream had chickpeas. Overall for hygiene, I would rate low. Very limited cultural activities and activities for kids. Swimming pool rules were not followed by guests.

Best part is the long swimming pool meeting the backwaters and Ayurvedic massage was great!

Rhythm Kumarakom offers a serene lakeside retreat with stunning views,luxurious rooms, and top-notch hospitality. Very old resort. Not worthy to be called a five star property. Everythîng in the room is old. Furniture, doors, bathroom, style. Not many amenities, available. No hand towels. Buffet breakfast mediocre quality.However the chef Mukesh in restaurant makes nice food. Hotel offers one hour boat trip in the evening which we decided to avail and just 15 minutes prior to departure it was cancelled and we missed going somewhere else as it was late for sight Seeing.

Please be aware that the adjacent resort hosts loud parties and wedding receptions, not ideal if you are looking for a quiet and relaxed stay. It is especially loud and disturbing for the cottages close to the backwater side and the parties can go upto 10:30 pm. The staff was trying to help like offering to move us etc, but we felt it is something the property management should inform guests at the time of check in to be prepared or discuss options, especially as I can also see from other reviews that it is not a one off incident.

The long pool is definetely the highlight of this property, where you always feel like you have a space for yourself. The sunset views are beautiful from the pool. We also got upgraded from a pool side cottage to backwater facing cottage with a plunge pool. We really enjoyed the views from our room. The staff was also very accomodating to make a special welcome decor as requested. The poolside restaurant is great- we really enjoyed the dinner buffet, though the breakfast was only average.

It wasn't clear that this hotel didn't serve alcohol. It would have been nice to have a drink with our meal so we chose another restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning in the gym making it difficult to work out.

The reception staff were very accommodating and friendly. The lady at reception in particular. After some issues with our initial room they moved us to a larger and more comfortable room which we were grateful for. They organised our alcohol beverages to be sent to the room.

The only downside of our stay was the food. It was not bad but it was not that great either. The night time buffet was expensive and definitely not value for money. Anything ordered to the room attracts a 20% extra charge. Not everything in the menu is available at all times either. This was probably the only disappointing aspect of our stay here.

The location, amenities, the pool, the villa, the evening boat ride in Vembanad were all great. The ayurvedic massage at the spa was really good as well. The staff were very polite and helpful.

Buffet dinner was a disappointment. Could do with an updated entertainment/TV in rooms. Only place we stayed in India without a TV where you could stream something if you had a spare hour.

Great poolside cottages. Very comfy! Pool was amazing and enjoyed the boat ride put on in the evening for all guests.
