Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing.
The hosts are absolutely wonderful - so welcoming, helpful, and kind. They talked us through a map of the city on the first day and helped us organise a boat-trip around the famous backwaters for our second day. They were also very helpful the day we left, by night train, letting us keep one of the rooms for the entire day without extra cost. The property is beautiful, in a quiet location with a beautiful garden and rooftop terrace. The rooms are simple and a bit damp; one of ours smelled a bit of mould, but I suppose that is difficult to avoid in a place as humid as this. The ceiling fans really helped, and we appreciated the mosquito nets around the beds. Breakfast was a highlight: gorgeous home-cooked Indian food. (The children would have liked a Western option, but there was toast and fruit for them.)

United KingdomIt is a homestay so some facilities are quite basic eg. the shower but we expected this. The air conditioning and fans were great and the rooms clean and comfortable. It was good value for money.
You couldn't wish for a warmer welcome. Sheeba and Ashley are so generous hearted they will go above and beyond to make your stay in Fort Cochin the best possible. Greenwoods is tucked away surrounded by greenery and the sounds of birds and yet it is no distance from the main sights. Breakfast on the roof was a treat and there was plenty of it.

BelgiumAshley and Sheeba are some of the kindest hosts I've ever met. Very family-like.They are great resources for information regarding Kochi, they are accommodating and will help with anything that you might need. The courtyard is like a little jungle. I booked a budget room, and it had everything I needed. Loved their home cooked breakfast. Simple but very tasty!

United States of AmericaThe facilities are a bit basic (bathroom is a wet room, as is common in Kerala), but the super-kind hosts, brilliant breakfast, and convenient location make for a different sort of luxury, especially given the very reasonable price. If you're looking for designer sheets, this isn't your spot. But if you want to meet some of the nicest people ever, relax amidst birds and greenery, and be very close to all Fort Kochi has to offer, you can't do better.
The innkeepers are superb and simply lovely people. They go out of their way to make guests comfortable, offer their own experiences and insights and are a pleasure to spend time with. I also can't say enough good things about the breakfast, which offered an assortment of fresh fruit, eggs, and a delicious Indian dish that was different each day.

NetherlandsMake sure you book a room with AC because Cochi is hot and humid! We booked a ground floor room which was a bit dark. It could use a deep clean.
Very friendly hosts, lots of info on what to do nearby and a little bit further away, great location! Very near to all the sights on the peninsula but quiet and green!
