Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyWe had a wonderful stay at this homestay. The hosts were incredibly kind and made us feel like part of the family. The home-cooked Indian meals were absolutely delicious – some of the best food we had during our trip! The room was clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere was peaceful. Highly recommended for an authentic and welcoming experience!

AustraliaI really loved my stay here! Benny, Sheeja and their daughter Sceva are generous, kind and helpful hosts, assisting with tickets and travel arrangements (including arranging a safe and reliable driver called Robin) and preparing delicious home cooked food (different every day) using fruits, vegetables and herbs fresh from their garden. There was also unlimited drinking water and fast wifi. Clothes can be washed for a modest charge. My King room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with an amazing view of the surrounding scenery (all the rooms have the view). As a solo traveller I felt very safe - it's a beautiful modern family home in a friendly neighbourhood, there's an internal bolt and chain on the room door should you wish to use them, and Benny was always contactable and checking that everything was ok. I walked to the local town, which has ATMs, restaurants, shops and a liquor store, but it's also easy to get a tuk tuk if you prefer. I'm so glad I found Sceva's Garden Home and would definitely stay there again - highly recommended!

We had a very nice stay here. Benny tool very good care of us and explained all the surroundings as well as the available sightseeing spots in detail to help us plan our day. He also helped book the tour and the driver. If you want an authentic local experience with a great host, we can highly recommend to stay with Benny and his family. The breakfast was very thoughtful and authentic too. We would always come back.

FranceNothing, except perhaps a small table on the balcony and maybe a couple of sunbeds by the pool, would further enhance this boutique style hotel.
Wonderful views from the bedroom and balcony. Comfortable bed with high-quality bed linen. Varied and tasty breakfasts. Benny, the host, helped us with planning our trips out. Nothing was too much trouble.

United KingdomSceva's Garden is a delightful place to stay, impeccably clean and well managed. The larger wooden room we had was gorgeous, the view from balcony (and bed) was over lush plants to distant ghats which twinkled at night. Birdsong. Bed and linens very good. Breakfast healthy, delicious and sociable. I had a sprained ankle so the trekking I had planned was out, and I was worried what we would do with Munnar over an hour away by car, with very busy roads and much more touristy than I had expected, and the next town 4.8 kms away. But the pool area, sunny all morning, was a gorgeous place to chill (we never usually do enough chilling!..) Also we found the stunning Kallarkutty Dam area a 10 rupee bus ride away was a beautiful place for a gentle walk and tourist free with a great little cafe opposite the bus stop on the way home. Only negative was the room next door was occupied 1 night and the partitioning is wafer thin - could hear everything ......

Wooden room was lovely, pool was exactly what was needed after a day's exploring, and Benny was extremely helpful with everything we needed (including organising airport pick up, drop off to Alleppey, a day exploring Munnar). Shout out to our driver Robin who was also great. Adimali is the nearest town, quick and easy to reach via tuk tuk and some lovely restaurants there

United KingdomNothing, everything was great.
Beautiful home, clean comfortable rooms and stunning views of the mountains from the balcony, as well as delicious breakfast. Benny and family were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to help us arrange things for trip, and shared a lot of knowledge and wisdom with us about the local area. We felt very at home here and wished we could have stayed longer. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this area.

United KingdomExtra driving due to location, but the homestay more than makes up for it!
Benny was a great host and couldn’t have done more to assist us with planning activities in the area and also helping us find the best future accommodation options. He was immensely helpful, with great recommendations. Do go to the local vegetarian restaurant. Basic but amazing food. It is a beautiful spot to stay, and great base for Munnar, even though it involves a little bit of extra driving. His neighbour Robin has a taxi, so all very easy to get around. Ben showed me around his garden which is full of interesting herbs, fruits and plants. The views are stunning. The rooms are clean. The food is fantastic!
