It is an old hotel--so the rooms/toilet are all old/kinda shabby and on the verge of falling apart

United KingdomThe hotel is very well located and all round is pleasant and comfortable. I have stayed at Blue Diamond 2 times now (2-3 weeks stays) over a period of 3-4 yrs and happy to continue doing so, but the hotel is slipping, in my opinion, to the lower end of the 5 star award. The general corridors, rooms, in room washrooms, etc are looking and feeling tired. The beds are still very comfortable so that is great. A little more attention to detail would be good. More substance and less appearance will help focus on the things that matter to guests and those that may appear to but really don't. The general facilities ae good. The gym is well equipped and very fit for purpose. the Salon experience is excellent. Ashraf is very approachable & skilled. Reception and staff/security at the gates and doors are very polite and helpful. Perhaps sometimes a little too keen to please and that can be extremely annoying. E.g. if I am carrying a small shopping bag I don't need someone to almost snatch it from me and say he will carry it for me. they can easily always first ask a question - 'would you like some help with that'- and that would suffice. We can then respond and take the help if needed or then be left in peace to go about our business. Housekeeping is very good and timely and ensures a good clean and tidy room. Laundry service too is efficient.
The best overall experience is Breakfast. Bablu the manager is outstanding and the staff are focused, professional & well disciplined. The quality of the food served is also outstanding. The attention to detail and consistency are truly admirable. E.g. the fruit segments are always fresh and cut exactly. My plain omelette is always the same shape, size & texture every day There is a daily change of buffet items offering variety and options for a very hearty and healthy breakfast. I stay at the Taj Lands End when in Mumbai and I will say, without reservation, that yes they have a larger spread and quantity but Blue Diamond breakfast has the quality of product & service that far outshines Lands end. A special thank you to Bablu and his team for an excellent service and making my stay so much more pleasing. Best part of the day & stay. Special mention to : Saurabh, Nilesh, Chef Girish, Vartika at breakfast reception & ofcourse, Bablu. Thank you very much.

United KingdomThe rooms can do with some upgrading. Although they have this classic charm, it's time for refurnishing because some of the other hotels nearby (Conrad, Sheraton etc) have significantly upgraded rooms and the room tariff is not that high there. However, given the outstanding service, I would prefer Blue Diamond just for their staff.
Blue Diamond serves full breakfast with plenty of options for all tastes. The live station can make eggs to order, make dosa/uttapa/paratha etc to order. The staff at the restaurant will make you feel at home and I mean this in the nicest possible way ;) There are two more food options with Mystic Masala serving authentic Marathi (local) food and Bamboo house for Oriental. Both are very good. In general, this hotel should take pride in its staff. They simply bend backwards to serve you at all times. It's just exceptional.

United States of AmericaKeying in the elevator after you were security checked to enter was difficult and annoying. The hotel had no microwave in the room or suite. Checking out was too long and a lot of mistakes on check out.
The suite was big and spacious. The first room was too small for 3 people and lots of luggage. The buffet was clean and had a variety of food. Very fresh and tasty. Nice atmosphere.

Ivory CoastWe were adjusted on 1st floor suite because their new rooms bed size on the rest of the floors, even if large cant accommodate a tall man like my husband. However the older rooms on 1st floor are old and everything is breaking. It needs renovation. The carpets in the corridor are way too smelly, and the entire hotel keeps on sprraying air perfums to avoid the smell. The hotel needs renovations, and those carpets should be immediately changed as they could be a source of respiratory infections. When they organise marriage parties near the pool, they light the charcoal tandoori, which contaminates the air and chokes the residents who are sharing the space of the swimming pool. In a polluted city of Pune, responsible corporates should learn to keep the air healthy and not contribute to the pollution.
The staff was very warm and courteous. The location is excellent. The breakfast spread is amazing.
