Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe breakfast was poor, the staff just were not keeping up with the guest. We asked several times for cups as they had run out. Tables were not cleared quick enough. They had a hot plate on to make omelettes but no one was present. When we eventually caught their eye they went around the back to make the world’s smallest omelette. Why waste the gas if they weren’t using it? We ordered drinks the previous evening and waited 15 minutes for the mixer to arrive having asked 3 times. We did have lunch though and that arrived swiftly and the waiter was on the ball for that one.
Amazing heritage property full of history. A real delight to stay.

United KingdomElectricity off twice a day. Wi-Fi is off for a day. I suspect this isn’t unusual. No room cleaning - it turns out the procedure is to leave the key in a pigeon hole for cleaning; this is not explained at check in. Bad VFM at $75; what an I paying more for?
Heritage building. Helpful and kind staff team. Pleasant in-house restaurant.

AustraliaStaircase. Needs a hazard-strip (black/yellow stripes) on the topmost riser, as it is higher than other risers, therefore a trip-hazard for people un-familiar with the set-up. Also, steps needed to be re-carpeted as the current one is nearly thread-bare. Smells. The hotel needs to request action by the PMC to ensure the creek smells are eliminated. These smells early in the morning are off-putting to tourists. Fortunately,.we were not affected by mosquitoes or flies, which is a positive.
It was a fairly nice place. Dinner was reasonable (pork chp was tough); breakfast was quite good, though, and staff happy to oblige.

GermanyWe prefered the Pousada Inn, with quiet and nicely renovated rooms. Rooms in the regular Inn look a bit oldfashioned. Nice terrace restaurant on upper floor with good food in the middle of the old city district. Really nice service.

United StatesWould have liked a separation between the shower stall and the bowl and sink, so those areas could stay dry. Would have liked more hand towels and a floor mat in the bathroom. Also they are a little short staffed during the peak breakfast time.
Old heritage property. Loved the ambiance and the galleries and antiques.

JerseyWe booked a deluxe double room on the understanding from the cost and how the room was promoted as the best room type at Panjim Pousada that this would be a large, airy boutique hotel room with a luxury heritage feel. It was not. If you have been staying in hostel dorms and want a treat of a room for yourself, then this would fit the bill. If you want luxury and are expecting a boutique hotel, then you will be very disappointed with the room. The deluxe double room definitely did not meet our expectations, and the photos were misleading regarding the size of the room and the overall finish and terrace access. In addition to the finish, our room was also split level making the small room even smaller so in order to open our suitcases we had to make space by moving furniture. It was a small double room in need of redecorating/maintenance and felt overpriced for what we paid. We spoke to the front desk about changing or upgrading our room and they were polite and helpful, but the hotel was fully booked so we could not change to a better room. It is unclear online, but I would recommend from our experience that future travellers wanting a boutique hotel experience do not stay here, perhaps instead stay in the Panjim Inn where there are "superior" room offerings, which we now understand to be a higher level room than "deluxe". Overall the heritage building is beautiful but it does need a lot of TLC and better maintaining as the overall feeling was that it was falling into disrepair. Also the bathroom is quite grotty (see my photo) which is not shown clearly in the advertised photos. We appreciate this is an old colonial building so is never going to be brand new, however the state of maintenance was not clearly advertised in the photos which from our experience were misleading. I recommend future travellers ask to see the room first to avoid disappointment.
Staff were very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The location is great right in the centre of the old Latin Quarter. The property itself is a heritage property but needs some TLC and maintenance. We have absolutely no complaints with the hotel staff all were lovely and helpful - our complaint is with how the hotel is maintained and advertised misleadingly.

IndiaThe quality of food and desserts in the restaurant can be improved. One of the waiters wore a grumpy look (maybe, overworked and tired to manage the Christmas rush). There are two nearby properties run by the same group "Panjim Inn" and the "Panjim Pousada", creating confusion. The picture you see on the website is of Panjim Inn. Panjim Pousada is a few steps away, and the exterior is not so impressive. Customers should be aware of this and make his/her choice.
The breakfast was quite good. Variety could be introduced with the tea-bags (Darjeeling / Assam / Green, etc.) to suit different tastes.
