To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

NetherlandsSeveral things broken in de room. Rail of the curtains and toilet was not fixed to the floor. The floor was a bit sticky when we came in. No water boiler in the room or building, for a cup of thee we had to go to the next building. Dinner was expensive so we skipped it and used our own food.
Good location and nice view. The stay was ok but not more than that.

I saw the northern lights here for the first time! Beds were comfy and they even gave us a baby cot for the baby! We didn't do the breakfast but it looked good, and I appreciate the 24 hour coffee and tea.

FranceThe chalets are well located and could be an excellent place to see the Northern Lights, but they are in a place with a lot of light. There's a lot of building material. That makes it harder for visitors to stay there to see the Northern Lights.
The hotel is located inside the park and very close to the meeting point of the main glacier tour agencies.

PolandWe had a bungalow with a very small room and bathroom. There is a micro sink in the bathroom. The biggest drawback for me was the lack of a kettle in the room where you can prepare a hot drink after a long journey. These are provided in the nearby main building, making the use of these facilities difficult in extreme weather.
Very good location if you are going to the ice caves early in the morning.
