Room was quite small, built-in safe was unusable (no instructions, maybe broken). I would expect glass cups instead of paper cup. But all mentioned are just minor issues. In general it was nice and clean.

The staff was very helpful, I enquired how to get to the hotel and they replied very efficiently with clear instruction. That helped a lot as I have always lost direction in Venice. Upon arrival, the gentleman manning the reception also gave me clear instruction how to operate with the entrance code so it was all clear. The location is great - only 10 minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge and St. Marco Piazza is also within 20 minutes.

If you are looking for panoramic views to Gran Canal, this is not the kind of place (as most Venice's).

It was rather cold in the room, I traveled in December.

Great location, just near Rialto bridge, quiet room, spacious and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was good, ok, not very small and not big. The rooms are located in two buildings very close to each other and I am not sure there is an elevator in each building.

My first impression was that the hotel decor was dated. However, the room was more than adequate for a night’s stay.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient. We were able to check in early and also able to store our luggage after check out on the day of departure to get breakfast and continue with sightseeing for a few hours. The price was reasonable.

Size of the room

The hotel is on an excellent position. It would have been better if the room had overlooked the canal at the back, or even the square at the front. Our room was cheap and the window faced another building but it wa also very small and hot. We would return but would ask for a better room. Really loved the position for many reasons.

The location was perfect near every shop I needed, restaurants, breakfast, drinks etc. and so close to the famous bridge.

Everything was fine. Only exception the lack of refrigerator. But we were been there on October, so it was not a problem.

We arrived late because our flight was delayed. We were able to get into the hotel without a problem, but we couldn't figure out how to make the A/C work without instructions. The next morning, they showed us how to use it. Ironically, the icon that looks like a snowflake is not the correct setting to turn the A/C on.

The location was excellent. We were no more than a 15-minute walk to just about every attraction and restaurant. The area is very touristy, but we didn't mind. We did not find the noise to be an issue.

Personally, I found the room too small and the single bed was not particularly comfortable (too hard for my taste). But the main problem was the shower. Yes, the water was hot and the pressure was fine. However the shower installation was TINY. I mean REALLY TINY. The opening to get in was so small that I literally had to squeeze inside. It was not easy even to wash your feet because it was so cramped. I paid €100 per night for the room, which in my opinion was much too expensive for what it was, though Venice IS a very costly city.

The location of Hotel Al Vagon was perfect for exploring Venice either on foot or by vaporetta. My room was quiet, as it didn’t overlook the main square. It had an old style, with painted designs on the furniture and closet, as well as some wooden beams. It added a bit of Old World charm. There was an electric pot to boil water for coffee or tea. The air-conditioner worked, though it was very noisy. The internet worked fine as well. They provided soap and shampoo packets. There was a safe for valuables and some hangers in a closet. The TV got two English-speaking channels (BBC News and Al Jazeera) plus a couple of French channels. The room was made up and cleaned the second day, though towels were not changed. The staff was helpful in carrying my suitcase up to my room, allowed me to leave my luggage there after checkout, and even assisted me in getting the suitcase over a bridge with steps when I left.
