Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandNothing for a one night stay.
Last minute booking due to a potential railway strike and then need to be in Tirano to take the Bernina Express train. Hotel just a minute from the station. Staff helpful and room small but adequate for one night. As it turned out I was pleased I got to Tirano the night before and would recommend this to others catching the Bernina Express.

United StatesRooms were a bit snug.
The location of Hotel Bernina was perfect for taking the Bernina Express in the morning. The room was small and a bit snug but very clean. Breakfast was quite ample. Nice elevator. We did opt to find a different restaurant for dinner. We walked to Parravicini, which was great.

CanadaReceptionist was rude. I put my credit card in and she handed it back with one word “ declined”. I was very surprised as have a big limit. So I tried my 2nd card. She did the same thing. “ Declined”. I was so shocked. My partner said let me try my debit card. That worked. I literally used my credit cards after everywhere so I don’t know what the problem was. She was so rude. Both were Mastercards too not like I was trying Amex . Nothing to open the drinks in the fridge with.
Steps away from the train station! Good breakfast!

New ZealandLocation was perfect for us as we arrived by train. We had 4 suitcases between us so having the hotel so close to the station was perfect. Room was lovely, very tidy and good size. Room amenities were good and staff were friendly. Pleasantly surprised that breakfast was ready before 7am which suited us because we had an early train departure. Breakfast buffet had a good selection. We would love to stay in this hotel again.

New Zealand- The only thing I could say, which Europe doesn't seem to do well in general, is to have an alternative blanket as an extra, as sometimes the duvets are too hot.
My adult son and I were travelling to Tirano to catch the Bernina Express. Location of the hotel was excellent, just across the square from the train station. We arrived at 10pm at night by train and checkin wasn't a problem. Their restaurant was closed but they recommended one across the square called Vittoria Piazzaria that was open until 11pm, that served us an excellent pizza and wine. Our room was 210 on the second floor, they had a lift that was helpful with our packs, and our room was roomy, clean and very comfortable for our one night stay. Our twin beds were literally singles not twin singles, so therefore small but comfortable. It had a desk, TV and luggage rack. Our room was the end of an outside walkway balcony so had its own little table and two chairs outside. The room cost came with breakfast which was very nice although they had cold pancakes that was surprising but there were no hot dishes that I remember. But a very nice meal overall with cereals, fruit, pastries etc. I've only added one food photo to this review. The Bernina Express was across the square at the railway station, we caught the 8.20am. A really great place to stay, sorry we couldn't explore the area a bit more and have more time.

AustraliaNothing, we enjoyed the hotel and our dinner in the hotel restaurant. The town was lovely and an easy walk to find many places to eat and drink.
The hotel was lovely and just what we needed for our one-night stay. The location was perfect for us as we walked out of the hotel and directly across the square to the Bernina Express terminal to catch the scenic train to Switzerland.

AustraliaWe couldn’t get the sauna to work which was a shame and no instructions for the shows which was a laugh working it out. Breakfast was a but bland - not as much hot food as we would have liked - with such a small occupancy perhaps they could have done some food to order.
Great location - close to station, supermarket, and restaurants yet quiet Hospitable staff Wonderful view from the room

AustraliaEven though there was a kettle provided there was no replacement of teabags each day and I also had to ask for milk each day.
A charming hotel that is very close to the Railway Station. All of the staff were very attentive with a special mention for the head waiter who suggested an excellent wine to have with dinner and was very informative on dinner options, also the waitress who I don't know by name but remember that she hails from Brazil. She was just lovely!
