Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumPerfect location for a city trip to Venice. in the centre, close to all major monuments, but also in a more quiet area of the city and in the vecinity of some nice pubs, bars, restaurants,.... Nice and spacious rooms with airconditioning, breakfast served in the room, .... very friendly ghost .... and although there was no reception or direct check-in.... the ghost was very easy to contact per whatsapp and was very reactive to some minor issues at arrival. very close to trhe major vaporetto platforms going to murano/burano and very close to grand canale.

RomaniaWe had a wonderful stay at Ca’ Cappellis! Our host, Cecilia, was absolutely amazing—warm, helpful, and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was generous and delicious, the perfect start to each day of exploring Venice. The building itself is full of historical charm, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully updated with all the modern facilities you could need. The location was ideal, tucked away in a quiet spot but still within easy walking distance of everything. One of the highlights for us was the piano in the common area, which our son loved playing—it added such a personal and memorable touch to our stay. We highly recommend Ca’ Cappellis to anyone visiting Venice. It truly exceeded our expectations!

United StatesIf you have any mobility issues, don’t book the upstairs apartment. There is a narrow spiral staircase.

AustraliaNoise from street late at night but I brought ear plugs.
Felt like Venetian royalty. Beautiful high ceilings, lush common room authentically decorated. Lovely host. Great location, right on a canal but much quieter area mixing with locals. Big bed and bathroom. Lovely large windows you can open up if desired.

CanadaThere are a few areas where improvements could elevate the guest experience to exceptional. 1. Two rolls of toilet paper were provided on the first day, and they were never replenished—we ended up having to buy our own. 2. The tissue box was already more than half used and wasn’t replaced. 3. Coffee pods and tea were supplied initially, but by end week we were down to one pod and three tea bags. 4. The two cookies offered on the first day were never replaced, nor were the two bottles of water in the fridge. (Not sure if they were meant to be replaced but would have been nice) 5. We paid for the breakfast cart (appx $30 Cdn/day). It started off beautifully—full, fresh, and made us feel like royalty. But by midweek, it noticeably declined. Bottled water was only included the first two days. I requested apple juice and received it once, but then all juice disappeared. Two cereals became one. By the last day, we were disappointed as we paid extra for this service. 6. Guest soap was never replaced. On the last day, three mini shampoo bottles were added—but all had broken seals and were half used. 7. One of the bathroom sink had a leaking faucet and the sink drained slowly. I wrapped a towel around it so I didn't use it as water would leak onto the toilet paper and down on the floor. I did bring this issue up to the host and she said she would have a plumber look at it. 8. This is just a suggestion - maybe add a logo notepad or logo paper in the welcome folder. We needed paper and hadn’t thought to bring any. The host did provide us with a pen to use, which was very helpful. 9. The host was present every day—except checkout day. We weren’t given instructions on check out, so we just left the keys in the door. Hopefully that was the right thing to do. I think these issues can be resolved by making sure the staff stay consistent and restock everything in the rooms. *Overall we had an an amazing experience, these things would have made our stay exceptional.*
My mother and I visited Venice and stayed at Ca’ Cappellis from June 9th to 15th, 2025, to celebrate her 77th birthday. We stayed in the King Suite on the 2nd floor—52 stairs up (there is no elevator). Thankfully, the host kindly helped my mother with her suitcase, which was greatly appreciated. The building had a charming Venetian feel with a grand door and security cameras. As two women traveling alone, we felt very safe in the area—and throughout Venice. The suite was amazing—very large with 20-foot ceilings, beautiful decor, and a spacious, modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. The bed was very comfortable, and the whole space felt clean and luxurious. It was extremely hot, so the air conditioning was a lifesaver. There was a TV (we didn’t use it) and a window with a charming street view. The bathroom was well-stocked with slippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, vanity kits, shampoo, and soap. There was also a bidet—though we didn’t use it. Two bottles of water were in the fridge, along with a coffee and tea station. There’s a shared lounge area, though we didn’t use it. Before arrival, we received a helpful WhatsApp message from the host with buzzer code info, where to find the key, and directions from the airport—right down to the boat line and company to take. This made navigating much easier. The host was extremely friendly, suggested a nearby place for dinner on our first night, and helped us get our bearings using a map the next day. That small gesture really helped us feel more confident exploring the city. The beginning of our stay felt like royal treatment. Ca’ Cappellis is in a fantastic location. We absolutely loved our time in Venice and will definitely return!

The lady managing the property was so friendly and welcoming. She was always so helpful. The room and the lobby covering the rooms is amazing ! It was super clean, spacey and roomy. The location is fantastic you can simply walk to any attractions in 10-15 minutes from the place. There's also a ferry stop which is like 7-8 minutes away.

This is an exceptional property in a great part of Venice- close to everything, walking distance to Rialto, beautiful little piazza around the corner but the neighbourhood is a little quieter, which is a godsend in Venice. Beautiful room with 5m ceilings. Amazing shared common room with dining suite and a chandelier. Beautiful fittings and fixtures everywhere.

IrelandBe prepared for lots of steps. We were on the third floor. The age and beauty of the building meant it did not bother us though.
The location, layout of apartment and level of facilities in the apartment were all outstanding. A wonderful place. We were aged 11 to 70 and everyone of us was impressed. Beds were very firm and so comfortable. A bath room and a shower room. Full fridge/freezer, hob, coffee machine and microwave.

United StatesBeautiful, high-ceilinged room in a very old building. Looks down on a highly trafficked Venice street (but not too busy like in more tourist-heavy pets of Venice). Cecilia was very friendly and nice. The space is just off the main tourist drags enough that it’s more peaceful. People on the streets can be a bit noisy at the end of the evening. I felt comfortable in this room and glad I chose it for my days in Venice.
