Daniella, the host, was so sweet and generous. She cooked up,two wonderful dinners for us and the food was some of the best we had in Sicily. It was the end of the season so we were the only ones there and it’s probably so much fun when the table is full of people to share stories with. Beautiful property. I think my only complaint would be that it is in a rather remote area. 20 minute drive to the valley of the temples.Daniella was so helpful to us when our car broke down and when we got a flat. I had no Italian so she became out interpreter and problem solver!

The entrance was a little hard to find-pay attention to the directions provided better than we did!

The property and grounds were exceptionally beautiful and well maintained. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The host was lovely, accommodating and provided delicious meals.

Not possible to navigate to it with GPS (at least Google). To be fair, Rick Steves’ book mentions this. Daniela’s directions by phone were very helpful.

We loved the entire experience. It’s worth calling out that you would best enjoy the area with a car unless you’re quite ambitious or looking to stay put. There isn’t much within walking distance (Realmonte is 30min by foot and the walk back would be steep). Bikes are available but the roads rough.

The property is gorgeous and relaxing. From the moment we buzzed at the gate Daniela cared for us. The bio pool was the perfect place to spend the hot afternoons with a beer. The olive groves made for a perfect sunset walk. There are cozy books and picturesque terraces for an Aperitivo. The included breakfast was wonderful with everything from eggs to fresh tomatoes, ham and cheese to pastries. The optional dinners were also fantastic. Daniela even let us help her cook one day. There is much to explore in the surrounding area if you can tear yourself away from the tranquility at Casa Balata.

perfect for a quiet and private vacation. far away from any crowd. beautiful swimming pool with a seaview. it was kind of difficult to find the farm at the beginning but after we arrived we loved every minute of our stay..

Fantastic location, wonderful hosts, delicious food. I especially loved seeing all the oregano harvested and then included with the meals. The road is fine now, and directions from the host and signs make it easy to find.
