    LEAVING!!!

My second extended visit for a whole week in Burano and it was difficult to leave. Returning to the Casa degli Artisti this October for my third visit in two years. Ornella, the hostess, is wonderful and very caring.

I do not have anything negative to say. The house is old and has the spirit of the family history. If you like everything super modern and "visiting house of friends" is not what you prefer, possibly it is not an option for you!

The host is super nice lady! If you want to feel not as one of billion tourists but special at affordable price while visiting Venice, I strongly recommend staying on Burano and at this house! House is full of love and history, it is right at the boat station, so, you can go to all other islands all day round, there are also night public boats. Burano is full of tourists starting from 10-11 in the morning and until 5-6 in the evening. But evenings, nights, mornings ... the island is yours, you are like in a movie decorations with no people and can enjoy Burano and Mazzorbo connected with a walking bridge alone)))

We didn’t want to go home

We liked everything about the house, location and island of Burano. Ornella, the owner, was especially friendly, helpful and just a wonderful person who it was a pleasure to meet. We even bumped into her in Venice and she offered to take us for a walk around (unfortunately we were waiting for dinner at a restaurant) which was such a sweet offer and would have been lovely- maybe next time. The house itself is a typical family home which has been in their family a long time, originally a fisherman’s house. The love and care that has gone into the house is clear to see. The history of the place is evident in lots of artefacts and interesting objects, each with its own story. Nice artwork by Ornella herself with a homely and comfortable feel. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here, we already miss the place and we really look forward to visiting again soon. Thanks

what I liked about the property is the beautiful artwork and all the little unique details all around. character, spacious, location, clean, and of course the AC.

A delightful hostess, who owns the house, made our visit to beautiful Burano a fantastic experience

Ornella, The owner of Casa delgi Artista, lived the first 18 years for her life in this well appointed traditional Burano fisherman's house (with small garden and terrace). Ornella gave advice on how to get to Burano using ferries from Marco Polo Airport, & gave us a short tour of beautiful Burano upon our arrival. Ornella also gave us many recommendations on other quieter island to visit (Torcella Mazzorbo, etc) and places to visit in Venice. She also gave us unbiased reviews on the best restaurants to visit on Burano and nearby islands. Then arranged for a friend to take us back to Marco Polo Airport in a private water taxi, that whisked us to the airport in 30 minutes. Casa delgi Artista is close ( 80 metres?) from the ferry terminal on Burano. In my opinion, staying on Burano, rather than staying in overcrowded Venice is a 'no brainer'. What's more renting the house for a week, was very considerably cheaper than alternative accommodation in Venice. Yet it's only a ferry ride away from Venice, Murano, etc. What's more, Burano is tranquil and virtually devoid of tourists outside the popular times, when daytime tourists arrive on the ferry from Venice. So outside of these hours you'll be able to interact with the locals who live on the beautiful island of Burano. Famous for its colourfully painted houses, by the various canals. The last time we stayed in an (overpriced) hotel in Venice, we made the decision that we would never stay in Venice again - a beautiful location, but thronging with tourists virtually 24/7. So I used booking.com to find this traditional fisherman's house on the fanatically photogenic island of Burano. Ornella sent us WhatsApp messages each morning, giving us advice and answering any questions we may have. We were welcomed as part of her family, enabling us to enjoy the beauty of Burano and the nearby islands and the local restaurants.

A little noise from the bedroom facing the pier but if you sleep well that’s ok. On the back bedroom it’s very quiete.

Located 1 min from the pier. Spacious, 2 bathrooms, comfortable beds, terrace and balcony behind. All super clear and bathrooms are new. It also has air-conditioned. The personal touch on the house with paintings and photos from the owner. It feels really special to stay there. It felt like visiting a friend. We want to come back!

Burano is possibly the best place to enjoy the Laguna, and Casa degli Artisti is exceptional

Burano is beautiful and its people friendly, but during high season the island is flooded by picture-taking tourists from 11:00 to 18:00. This is easy to avoid by planning for an early ride out (there is so much to see in the lagoon and adjoining spots, e.g., Lido), but it may take quite some time to catch a Vaporetto from Murano to Burano after 11:00, or from Fondamente Nove before 15:00. There are alternatives, such as line 14 from San Zaccaria-San Marco, but if you don't enjoy staying in line some planning is advised.

The host was extremely friendly and always available for tips and recommendations. The house is large, authentic, and extremely well positioned, just opposite the vaporetto jetty. It has everything you need to sleep and feed 5 people in comfort. The double bathroom was also very welcome. Burano is a pretty small town, with excellent shopping (pastries in the morning, very well furnished Coop supermarket 1 min away) and of course a Spritz at the Pescaria Vecia while basking in the sunset over the lagoon.
