Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

We had a wonderful stay! The room was nice and clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The water was crystal clear, and there were plenty of great restaurants nearby. It truly felt like a home away from home. A special thank you to Mario, Teresa, and Maria for making our holiday even better — your kindness made all the difference!

Saudi ArabiaOnly small complaint was the AC unit system in our room. It didn’t work as well as we would have liked. So a lot of sweaty nights!
The location was great near the beach - 2 min walk down the hill. Kids loved the Jacuzzi at the end of a Long Beach day. Room size was good for our family. All the staff were always super helpful and attentive. Mario was amazing!

CanadaThe Cava dell’Isola hotel provides a good buffet breakfast and there is an open bar in the late afternoon/early evening. There are also two beach restaurants just down the hill, but they only offer lunch. So for dinner you have to take the stairs and walk to Citara or Forio (not far, just about 10-15 minutes’ walk).
We had a wonderful relaxing stay at this family-run boutique hotel. It is really a little gem with welcoming friendly staff and a great location, hidden down the hill right next to a beautiful natural beach and two very good restaurants. The bright comfortable room with its own terrace and sea view is designed with a lovely coastal color palette, but can be easily transformed into a silent and dark space by closing the glass doors and shutters. Poseidon Thermal Gardens is only 15 min' walking distance. You have to go up and down the stairs to get to the town or back to the hotel, which we considered our daily fitness routine). Staying away from the busy tourist area felt very peaceful and tranquil. Thank you to the amazing staff who made us feel like home: Teresa, Giusy, Mario and Lina. We wish we could stay longer here. See you next time!

United KingdomIt wasn’t an issue for us, but there are at least 50 steps from the street down to the hotel which would not be suitable for someone who has poor mobility. The walk down to the beachfront also involves steps which aren’t the easiest.
The location was perfect - it was a couple of metres away from Cava Dell’Isola beach which was, in our opinion, the best beach on the island. The main town Forio was approx 20 minute walk away and Citara was about 10 minute walk with easy access to the Poseidon Spa. The hotel staff were fantastic, available practically all hours for support if needed. Theresa (the owner) went above and beyond, driving us personally to the port so we wouldn’t miss our ferry home. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. We would certainly stay again.

United KingdomSteps up to the top street are a calf burner! No long/full length mirror in the rooms.
Property is a great location for accessing Forio (~20min walk), yet not being in the busy port area. It’s next to the best beach in Ischia (as voted for by the locals) and has a couple of good bar/restaurants overlooking the beach. Note, the closest restaurants close at 17:30ish, so will have to walk into one of the towns for dinner, or there’s one a 5 min walk but it is £££. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast and the bar is open from 17-20:30 which is lovely to watch the sunset from.

At breakfast with great view and friendly staff as well. We had a few issues and staff helped us instantly. Thank you for everything.

United StatesThe Wi-Fi didn’t work well in my room, and cell service was spotty, but it was a minor issue. I guess you just have to sit outside and enjoy the ocean if you want to use your phone. Such a difficult problem to have ;)
I loved my stay here! The room was impeccably clean, with turndown service every morning. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and lovely. But the best parts were the people and the location. The location is just up the hill from the Cava beach and their restaurant. I highly recommend starting your trip with a pizza on the beach—nothing better! The water was perfect and the pizza was inexpensive and delicious! The hotel is also a short walk to Citara & Poseidon (about 10-15 minutes) and Forio (20-25 minutes). It's hilly but I enjoyed walking along the hillside with views of the water. It helps you get ready to fuel up on seafood pasta and pizza ;) The family and staff who run this place are truly special. I left feeling like part of their community. Josie (Josy?) welcomed me when I arrived and was so helpful. She laid out everything I needed to know. They also answered my endless questions about the buses (which were confusing), called places for me when I needed help, provided recommendations, and even gave me a ride with them into Forio when they were heading there too. Teresa helped get me to Forio Porto and hugged me when we parted. I can't say enough wonderful things about these amazing people. I just wish I lived closer so I could vacation here more often. To echo what others have said, the walk down the hill to the hotel is steep so I'd only recommend booking if you're prepared for this. I wish I had known there was a driveway for luggage, so I’m sharing this now! If you arrive with a roller suitcase, there’s a driveway to the left at the top of the stairs (if you're facing the water). There’s a gate, but you can walk in next to it. It’s still steep and not smooth, but it’s much easier than carrying luggage down the steps—I realized this after the fact! Ha!

LatviaEverything turned out better than we had hoped. Location by the beach Cava Dell`Isola and with a great view from the terrace and the room. The sound of the waves for complete relaxation. Quiet stay, everything just renovated, new look. Good breakfast and a great bar with a very nice bartender who tells you about the island. Nearby Vespa rental, bus stop and Forio, one of the most beautiful places on the island. If you are interested - Poseidon Termes is also 15 minutes' walk away.
