Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Irelandsome modest changes would improve the experience. Tea and coffee/kettle in room would be welcome as there are no self -service facilities for guests outside of the breakfast hours. Perhaps a water cooler for drinking water. Breakfast starts at 8am which was too late for us, altho they offered a packaged breakfast to go on request. Bfast was basic, mostly cheap prepackaged items and a croissant + an egg, no cereal choice or awareness of dietary preferences, non dairy etc. This did not match the 3* badge or cost and puts it more into the B&B category imo.
Excellent location, good local bars and restos, right next to Colloseum and Metro. Very unique decor if you like classical mosaics and ornate finishing. Quite enough. Smart TV and good wifi.

CanadaLiked everything and have suggested to Roberto that Kleenex boxes be placed in the rooms.
A lovely boutique hotel in an excellent location in central Rome near the Colosseum. Rooms are well appointed and the continental breakfast is excellent. Roberto is a very kind, friendly and helpful host and went out of his way to make our stay happy and comfortable. Will definitely return when next in Rome.

United States of AmericaThe property requires you to call and wake someone up when you are coming in after a certain hour. Maybe after midnight. Your key doesn’t give you access. It’s for safety but i felt like it was an imposition to wake someone a number of times.
The location near the colosseum was perfect. And by restaurants and the gay bars. I liked the roof deck too although it was about 100 degrees when I was there and being outside was uncomfortable during the day. The shower was good and bed was comfortable. Great AC as well, which was critical during this trip. Breakfast was one boiled egg and some bread/croissant with juice and coffee in the basement.

United KingdomI would have loved a slightly bigger bed as we chose the twin option for me and my mum. But with small rooms there would not have been space for 2 doubles. The shower was a bit small and dated but very clean and good water pressure/ easy to use. It got a little hot in the room over night but nothing too uncomfortable.
The location could not be better. You can see the colosseum just at the end of the road, from the hotel, only a few hundred meters away. lOVED the quaint traditional Italian interior. The staff were so helpful and kind. They let us leave our luggage after checkout for a while and even let me use the bathroom in one of the rooms after we had already checked out.

United KingdomAir conditioning centrally controlled by staff and it was freezing in the room. Staff reluctant to alter AC temperature as other guests would complain! Had to be brought blankets for the bed. There are many bad reviews about this freezing AC.
Decor of room and corridors was lovely. Beautiful roof terrace. Very clean and fresh towels daily.

United States of AmericaWe had an amazing 2-week stay at the Celio hotel! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and it was always a pleasure to be greeted by Roberto or his wife -- it felt like we were at home. Our room was stylish and comfortable, with beautiful high ceilings and the extra bonus of a partial view of the Colosseum. We particularly enjoyed the location of the hotel -- on a quiet street, just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Rome and within walking distance of all the places of interest that we wanted to visit! Celio has a gorgeous roof terrace, with excellently maintained garden, where, in the downtime, we enjoyed reading or sipping our espresso. We wish we didn’t have to leave this beautiful boutique hotel, but we certainly plan to return to it in the future! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

SpainIn the interior rooms there isn't any natural light but the personal change my room to an exterior.
The location is great a few minutes walking to the coliseum, many shops around, markets restaurants, the bus stop is in the corner of the second street and the train stop a few minutes walking. The hotel is in a not very noisy street which is very nice. The personal is great and helpful. It is a nice very simple hotel, it is enough for sightseeing and/or short visit.

United KingdomOnly a very small niggle. If you are accommodated on the top floor the stairs are quite challenging so you would need to be young/fît enough to handle them. However, the roof terrace is wonderful and worth every step to get there!
