Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bathroom is a little outdated
The service was very good. The receptionist Anka was super. She gave us very good tips for enjoying Rome. The location is excellent. Close to the termini and with easy access by metro, bus and on foot to the best attractions in Rome

Breakfast. Needed fresh fruit, better bread, more hot choices, not just boiled eggs or freeze dried scrambled eggs. In Italy in September would have expected melon, peaches, grapes not a small dish of cut up apples.

Location was good. Staffs are so kind and cooperative. Classic style of interior makes me feel like I'm in the 1900s. We've had a breakfast at the beautiful terrace with european parings. Overall, quite well.

Had problems with the TV controls but in Rome, who cares.
Our two stays at Hotel Columbia were far better than we could have hoped. . Good room, quiet, good air conditioner, very good comfortable beds, but most of all such friendly exceptionally staff both in the rooftop breakfast area and at reception. We could not recommend it enough.

It was very hot when we stayed and the air conditioning struggled to keep up. The TV controls were a struggle so we gave up.
Great location near the central station and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. It is within walking distance to many of the sights. The hotel is an old world style so the rooms are not large, the bathroom is a good size and well fitted and very clean. The guest lounge and rooftop terrace are a bonus. Breakfast was plentiful with a limited selection of hot and a very good selection of cold foods. The staff were attentive and helpful. Good value if you book early.

The room was good and clean however the bathroom was soo tiny and it was very hard to bath and changing inside it. Also there was a problem in water drains that made it harder to shower.
The hotel was very close to city center and the main metro lines. The staff was so kind and helpful. I would like to thank especially to Dounia for her kindness and sweetness.

Nothing could have been better - we had a great time
Great staff, very welcoming. Brilliant Breakfast - lots of choice and the roof terrace is beautiful - a very peaceful start to the day. The room we had was full of charm - some may say 'old fashioned' but we found it delightful, quirky and who wouldnt want to use a pink bathroom suite in Rome. Joyful! Very close to the train station and also central to get around Rome

The bathroom has an old-style bath with a curtain and not a walk-in shower. Not very convenient to take shower. Quite old carpets and furniture in the room. The hotel is good enough, but not fabulous.
The hotel is located few minutes walking from the metro and 20-25 minutes from most of the popular locations, although not in the heart of the old city. The room was large enough (the superior room). Friendly staff. The bed was confortable enough. The breakfast was good.

the room was small and it had two beds instead of one, but we didn't complain about this because they accepted a really early checkin - we arrived and checked in at 8AM

Shower was from ancient rome. Also bed was hard as a gladiator.
-The staff, especially woman who checked us in, was the literal meaning of customer service. So nice and helpful. -Short walking distance to everywhere so big plus for location. -Breakfast wasnt perfect but it got the job done. Cappucino on a rooftop terrace is a good way to start a day. Also staff at breakfast were friendly. -Room was quiet

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was really useful that we could keep our bags at the hotel before check in and after checkout. The bed was comfortable and we had a lovely balcony next to our room where we could look out on the street. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The first room we were offerd was, well, somewhat tired, but the next day we moved to a better and more spacious room.
Location: 10 minutes walk from Roma Termini train station, about 20 min walk to the old city center, Rome Opera House is just by the corner, ample dining options around. The staff is above friendly and helpful. Ah, and the terrace on the rooftop!

The bathrooms could be updated a bit.
