Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The bathroom fan was on a timer and only went for a minute or so.

Location within walking distance of many of the most popular tourist destinations. Staff very helpful. Breakfast downstairs was very convenient. Staff even made us food the night before when we had a booking that was before the normal breakfast on the next day.

We lived at base floor and tit is small window there (but it usually is norm). The floor is stone so little bit cold (it would be perfect to provide slippers).
Perfect location. Some quarters from Vatican, with silent & safety vicinity offering prestigious real property. Clean enough (at less for Rome). Domus is ideally located for transfer from Fiumicino airport by SIT bus (bus stop at Via Crescenzio in some 150 m from property) and for usage of city buses & metro (5 min by walking). Very clean property. Fast & helpful reception. Housekeeping every day. And the best is very good breakfast for Italy (tea/coffee, cereals & milk, fruits, cheese & ham, eggs, yoghurt, omelet, bacon and sausages + different pastry). Very pleasant and responsive staff (kitchen & housekeeping, especially Lucia).

Everything was amazing. From the breakfast, to the friendly staff. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean and fresh. In a very beautiful part of the city only minutes from Vatican City. We would definitely return.

No obvious sign outside, name is by the bell as it’s within an apartment complex (we rather liked this though!)
Beautiful room with great facilities and huge bed. Lovely private garden and home made breakfast. Very small hotel in a quiet area. The hotel staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful and made the best cappuccino that we had during our entire trip.

Had to take a taxi to get there from Rome Termini but once we go there the location was excellent. The check in staff could not have been more helpful. She suggested a lovely dinner at a restaurant nearby. Then when we had to leave before breakfast, the staff brought us lots of food for own private breakfast. The location is also very close to the airport shuttle which is the best and cheapest way to get back to FCO airport. The room was bright, clean, and modern and exceeded expectations. We would definetly go back and stay longer.

No residents lounge, but that wasn’t a big deal for us.
Really easy check-in with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was great and really set us up for the day. Scrambled eggs were particularly delicious. Location is ideal for exploring Rome – it’s not in the tourist areas but a 10-20 min stroll with find you in the hub of all the sights. A couple of local restaurants, recommended by reception, were great with authentic Italian cuisine and full of happy friendly locals, we were lucky they could squeeze us in, even on a Thursday night. Room was clean and bright and had everything we needed. Check out was easy and the Domus Terenzio allowed us to leave our luggage to collect later in the day as we had a late afternoon flight.

We had a fantastic time in Domus Terenzio. The room was super clean and quiet, at a perfect location. Lucia is the nicest person ever 😍🥰 she is definitely the highlight of the place, she was always smiling and took great care of us. My husband was outside smoking while the rain started pouring so Lucia ran out with an umbrella. We were so happy to recieve this level of kindness and caring. Lovely experience!

City Tax a bit too high and not part of the final price on booking. HOWEVER, this is a booking problem and the city taxes. Definitely a problem that property owners should be aware of.
We were warmly welcomed by the staff. It is near the iconic Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican, but still far enough away to avoid the tourists masses.
