United StatesThe air conditioner would not go below 24C / 75F. We tried opening the windows at night but it only let mosquitos in. Very uncomfortable to sleep in. The next day we tried to leave the windows open during the day to cool off the room but the cleaning staff closed them so we arrived back to a very warm room and another uncomfortable night of sleeping.

New ZealandUnfortunately the staff let this hotel down. We were 4 friends travelling together and requested rooms to accommodate 4 beds. We asked a number of times prior to arrival to seperate an optional “twin or double” room in to two beds but that was seemingly too difficult and was told it would cost 30€. The staff member offered us linen to do ourselves! The next morning another staff member made so much noise, I thought someone was having a fight in hallway and/or moving house - in reality it was the cleaner talking on the phone, going from room to room while pushing beds around the floor. Also, the entry card is specific to the rooms power system which means you can’t set aircon to a suitable temp while you’re out. Takes about an hour to cool down.

United KingdomVery poor sound insulation between the rooms. You could hear TVs and conversations and snoring coming from the next Room. There were a number of things broken in our room including the lighting in the bathroom and the plug in the bathroom sink. Although I have to praise the staff for sorting the lighting and a drainage issue with the bathroom sink, promptly during our stay. However the plug was never fixed. Also the air con was temperamental and didn't seem to always come on when the control panel was activated. Sometimes requiring the panel to be switched on and off several times. However, once it was working it was very effective.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. They gave great advice about the public transport system and where to collect and purchase tickets for various attractions. The breakfast was a nice addition included in the room price each morning, although the selection could have been varied a bit more. The free tea and coffee was also very much appreciated. Good quality, strong coffee too. The rooms were clean and a reasonable size. And the beds were pretty comfortable. Also, the addition of double insulation on the balcony windows was appreciated as this kept the noise of the trains out of the room. The hotel was in a great location for bus and train links and within walking distance of the main attractions.

GermanyThe hotel seemed a little old and a bit run down, it was very clean but a bit outdated. The room we stayed in had a fuse box that made an annoying ticking sound all night that made it difficult to sleep. We mentioned the issue to the staff but I don't think they could fix the problem. There is no restaurant on site but plenty nearby, there is mention of a bar but it never seemed to be open the entire time we stayed there.
The location was handy, near the train station and about 100m from the tram stop Rosselli that goes to the airport. The old centre of Florence and the major tourist attractions are about a 20 min walk away. Despite being very close to the train line, the room was well soundproofed and we didn't hear train noise. The room was a reasonable size for 2 people, even though there were 2 extra beds in the room, I don't think it would be large enough for a family. There were amenities like a kettle, minibar and basic toiletries in the bathroom. The balcony was a good size. The breakfast was fine, pretty standard for Italy (coffee, toast, cakes and pastries, some eggs and sausages etc.).

United StatesThe manageress and the exterior of the hotel and surrounding buildings. The street is seedy, not well lit, trash and graffiti. Much could be done to make it more attractive. The manageress was overbearing. When I first booked for 2 requesting twin beds, the reply was that they would try. This was not good enough as my friend and I didn’t want to share a bed, so I then booked the higher level room with 2 double beds for a higher cost. When we arrived and were talking to the manageress, she insisted she ,of course, was going to give us twin beds. She then flippantly said”Well, you are in a much nicer, bigger room.” The other staff was very nice, but I won’t recommend the hotel because of the way the reservation was “Bait and switched” causing me to book a more expensive room.

The person who e-mailed and was at the Reception when we checked in was very helpful. I had asked for a room with lift access since my mother can't climb stairs and was told that she could use the the lift for the luggage. It was a working stairlift. 😅👍🏼 There's a tram station very close that you can take to go to Florence's Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station (next stop). B'fast was good. No kettle in the room but can go to the lobby and ask for coffee/tea anytime. No charge. There was a tiny balcony too.
