Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It might have been nice to have a bath instead of a shower.
The location was near enough to the centre and there were a number of restaurants nearby.

twin beds were in a room only fit for a double.
Staff were very helpful breakfast was great. nice walk to Arena only about 5 minutes.

Parking was not good. The room size was very small. Check-in was difficult. The reception closes at 930. There were two different buildings, so finding your room was hard. I would think if we were able to get to the hotel before 930 things may have been different
The location was good. You could walk to the old city parts in a few minutes. The breakfast was very good lots of good choices.

Wish there had been a drawer or two to put things away, however with a little improvising we did just fine. Also had to request a blanket for our bed as nothing but a cover sheet was provided and it got chilly in the night.
Room was very comfortable. Location was perfect - within steps of Piazza Bra. Breakfast buffet was very good. First hotel for us on this holiday in Italy with no steps to climb! Elevator to our floor.

Initially given a room next door to the breakfast bar which can be noisy first thing in the morning. The air conditioning was temperamental and stopped working (as did the tv) the card to enter the hotel once reception closed didn’t work. However, once reported to the hotel staff. We were moved to another room immediately and a complimentary gift left in room for us when we returned later that day. This was a nice touch and again an example of the great customer service I mention above.
Location is excellent and staff are very friendly. Excellent customer service (see below) Would stay again and would recommend.

A lounge area for use during the day would have been appreciated.
Very central location - 5 mins to Arena. Breakfast was first class and included in the room rate. Room was exceptionally clean (rated 5 star). Staff were very welcoming and efficient: a reported defect was dealt with promptly.

Our room was in a separate building from the main hotel. Bathroom clean but a bit cramped. Fridge not cold enough

The breakfast and the private parking were the most good things. The staff helped us on some general questions we had on the ZTL areas of other towns and gave us tips.

From start to finish it was fabulous. Checking in. Help with the pre-booked parking in the convenient underground parking literally just around the corner. Good room. Airconditioning perfect. Great bed. And don’t forget: location location location. Just a stone throw away from the Verona Arena.
