Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe forgot to buy our own water on our second day and unfortunately the water in the room hadn’t been replaced. Small detail but important to remember to bring back water.
Good location near the Borghese gardens but walk home from central Rome as a result was always uphill but very near and easily walkable to all the major attractions. The hotel had original features and charm and our room was spacious with a lovely hot shower and good facilities. Guido was very helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

SlovakiaOnly thing we will not miss is the noise from pump, when you flush the toiled, shower or run the water. The water installation in this old building must be equipped with some special water pipes and additional appliances to get there water and it makes strange noise :-)
Location of this place is perfect, you can start exploring Rome by foot and return by foot in the evening. As recommended - the best to explore Rome is by foot and this is the ideal base for it. Breakfast is in form of vouchers in nearby bar (cafe), so you can get cappuccino and corneto (croissant) as true Italian :-) If you can't step outside you habits you can have breakfast in the place for some extra cost, but I would highy recommend to use the "Italian way" for this stay. Staff of the place is very nice and very friendly. We had flight at 20:00 so they allowed us to store our luggage there and gave us they key just from the hall, so we can pick them up, when we need.

NetherlandsVery friendly and inviting staff! Were incredibly helpful with everything about the environment, culture and where I can best eat. The people at the breakfast place are also very friendly and I was happy with my coffee and croissant. The property is historically beautiful and is located near Villa Borghese and the Spanish Steps. I found the room very charming in its simplicity. Exactly as in the photo.

United KingdomBreakfast was in a bar a street away. Just a coffee and croissant.
An attractive 19th century property, with high ceilings, parquet floors and painted doors. Lovely old wooden lift. Very comfortable warm room. Friendly, in person welcome. Within walking distance of main station and key tourist sites.

United KingdomNothing really, whilst the bathroom was small, it was perfectly functional. The apartment was at the top of quite a steep climb, so might not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues
The apartment/room was very clean, the hosts could not have been more helpful. It was in a good position with easy access to a number of the famous sites.

ChinaBreakfast is arranged at a restaurant not far from the residence. Although not rich, it can fill your stomach. Although the apartment is not new, it is very well maintained. The owner of the house was very friendly and waited on the street for a long time to welcome us. The location is great, the streets are clean and very safe.

Thank you to the Martina house for hosting my mother and I on our last trip to Rome. Loved the location of the apartment, walking distance to everywhere(Via Veneto, supermarket, restaurants etc) in Rome. Loved the security of the apartment, elevator access (the cutest elevator...). Was a real treat and we created wonderful memories with my mom. Breakfast was great (brioche and a wonderful cup of coffee to get you started for the day).

Beautiful building in a very pleasant area of Rome, charming apartment. Very nice, efficient and helpful hosts (Martina was responding to messages within minutes!). Possibility to store luggage also after checkout. Breakfast in the nearby café/bar is a nice option (for those who say that one sweet pastry is not enough, there are additional options available, or just really good sandwiches that do not cost a lot).
