We really appreciated how fresh and well-maintained the accommodation was – both the rooms and the shared spaces were spotless and clearly cared for with attention to detail. It gave a strong impression of quality and cleanliness. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive, which made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. The overall atmosphere was calm and peaceful, creating the perfect environment to truly relax and unwind. It felt like a home away from home – but with a vacation vibe.

We liked everything.

We loved our stay at Masseria Lilei! The hotel is an historic masseria, beautifully located amidst vineyards, 20 minutes outside of Lecce. The domain is very well maintained with a beautiful garden, flowers and pool area. All staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. The girls at reception were super kind and helped us with good restaurant tips while the waiters at the restaurant and pool area were always ready to help and make us feel comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a good mix of Italian sweet pastries and savory choices like eggs and focaccia. We decided to have dinner at the masseria one evening, which we enjoyed outside in the beautiful setting with the best service.

Some areas for improvement: In the evening, the restaurant unfortunately lacks a bit of atmosphere. While the setting is lovely for breakfast, it doesn’t quite suit a dinner experience. Some of the flavors on the plate could also use a bit of fine-tuning.
In the room, offering a bottle of water each day would be a nice touch… and the phone screen is really bright at night.
The access road to the masseria isn’t very inviting, with some litter and illegal dumping visible along one of the routes. Also, having to get out of the car to unlock the gate with a key isn't ideal, especially at night.

The masseria is a beautiful and well-kept place. The highlights of the property are the spacious and beautifully minimalist rooms, the garden and pool area which are also very pleasant, and the staff, who are truly attentive and caring. Breakfast, with all the homemade pastries, was a joy every morning, and I want to mention the lovely and dedicated women who work there (and who doted on our baby <3). The masseria’s wine is very good, and the tarallini were the best we’ve ever had.

A bit too isolated in location. The menu was a bit dull and repetitive. The breakfast was not much choice unless you like cake. I ordered a tiramisu which was frozen in middle and warm soupy cream on the outside, ?defrosted by microwave.

The renovations left the age and beauty of the buildings and gardens enhanced and accessible. The citrus trees still bore oranges and lemons which added colour and the flowering bushes and trees were coming in to blossom. Very pleasing to the eye.

We had great aperitives before dinner. Really good cold and cheese boards and great cocktails. We were a bit underwhelmed by the dishes at dinner. They were correct, but not in line with the excellence of the Masseria and the level of cooking of the Salento area.

Breakfast was very good, delicious. The pastries were all home made and amazing.

There could be a more extensive lunch menu and it would be great to have daily special entrees as well as appetizers and deserts at dinner for those who stay a number of days.(The breakfasts were perfect!)

The property is picture perfect. The staff is warm and totally accommodating. This is a great place to take a break from frenetic travel.

Tour of vineyards and wine-tasting was lovely, but a little overpriced.

Beautifully restored 14th-century farmhouse. Incredibly helpful concierge - they could not do enough for you: taxis, restaurant recommendations etc. Amazing pool that we had to ourselves most of the time.

Food that we had for dinner is below average, everything is dry and extremely expensive for a small lasagna and strips of chicken covered with white sauce of flour , water and lemon juice. The dessert is the worst, beautifully presented but extremely dry.

The property is absolutely beautiful in a perfect setting. Quiet and very peaceful and the staff are professional and very attentive. The only negative is the food we had for dinner, the quality is below average, I had lemon chicken and it’s very basic, strips of chicken with white sauce that seems to be a mix of flour with water and lemon, not delicious. My daughter had lasagna and it was very dry. For dessert we had the chocolate soufflé and it was extremely dry. $82 euros for this quality of meal for dinner is exorbitant for the quality that we got. The Rose wine is pretty good and the breakfast is also very good, lots of choices of fresh fruits , cheese and cold meats. It’s a pity because we love everything about this place but the dinner is a huge turn off, it just doesn’t match to the 5 star service, beds and the whole ambience of this Masseria. Food is a huge part of having an excellent experience this one just missed it.:(
