It was an apartment, but we were not given a "starter" kit for the kitchen. There was insufficient light in the bedroom There were no shades in the bedroom...when the sun came up, it was wake up time!

The network in the room was quite slow and the air conditioner in our room didn't really cool the room down very much. It was adequate for sleeping, but both of these issues could be looked into.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Given the ancientness of the building – with is part of its undeniable charm - the room appointments and overall facilities were surprisingly modern. And, of course, the scenery in that area of Tuscany is breathtaking; like staying in a picture postcard of Italy.

It is so quiet and peaceful, we had the 2 bedroom apartment for a family of 4 and with 2 bedrooms,dining room anc living room,2 bathrooms..we all had our spaces.The pool's location is magnificent

I can’t think of anything that could have been better with our stay. It was wonderful.

Delicious breakfast in a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful sitting with a beautiful view! Loved it. The staff was so nice, delicious wine, and gorgeous views, and sunsets all around.

It is quite remote so a car is almost essential if you want to explore the area. Taxis have to be booked well in advance if you are using them. The swimming pool was great but a bit cold in May.

Fantastic old castle, lots of character. Great restaurant (but you need to book) lovely location. Never felt crowded plenty of space for sitting and enjoying the view. Great for walking cycling and exploring. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful.

check in/reception staff can improve their game a bit. this is a big end place, guests expect a bit more.

wonderful remodeled/adapted village fortifications. rooms were beautifully adapted. decent rooms. reasonably comfortable considering the country setting. excellent restaurant on the premises open for lunch and dinner. Wine tastings organized on site (book ahead). insist on having Nicola as your sommelier, he’s both knowledgeable and a delight— he will make your day. Great wines to be had in this house.

I loved the hotel, it was little beautiful medivial village, sorrounded by mountins and Tuscany atmosphere. Ladies in reception were so kind and happy all the time:) Nice breakfast - at least for us there were many options we liked. They produce wine and we enjoyed the wine tasting as well. Thank you for everything!

For the breakfast buffet, there could be labels of what is everything to make things clearer, especially for people with special allergies to food. In our room there was the boiler of all the rooms, near the bathroom, on the floor making noise during the night. Likely there was a second door that if closed solved the problem.

Very good breakfast. Our room was very big with two windows views. The location is in between many castles and typical Siena Chianti small towns to visit! Very beautiful swimming pool to enjoy the grape harvest period.

It would've been nice to have had the winery open in the evenings to get a drink after dinner, but it really wasn't the end of the world, everything else was great!!

Honestly everything! it was the most beautiful stay and I such a lovely area, would really recommend for anyone wanted a stay in the chianti region :)

Bathroom is located differently due to being an old fort with lots of steps. Not a lot of storage and a lot of steps. Dangerous during the night.

Amazing location with great views. Next to that very nice old fort with traditional hotel room. Very special. Room also very clean and great airco. Very friendly welcome and a great wine tasting.

nothing - can’t recommend this spot enough

beautiful property, perfect for exploring the chianti region. Although it is quite remote, there is a taverna (excellent restaurant) 100m away, and a local wine tasting spot another 100m away, with the local town of Gaoile a short 10min drive away. Hosts are lovely, fabulous wine and the restaurant onsite is superb. be sure to book.

Incredibly beautiful historical and typical Tuscan building/village. Very nice staff which provided a great wine tasting of the Rocca di Castagnoli wines. Very big pool with incredible views of the Tuscan hills. The restaurant that belongs to the hotel is also really great. Would definitely come back in the future!

I wish both bedrooms had air. I wish our check in would have went a little better. I wish they had a place open for lunch or snacks you could purchase when laying by the pool.

This place was beautiful and was so charming. Our room was very roomy and loved that it had two bathrooms which worked well so our daughter had her own bathroom and we had ours. The pool was amazing and the view was stunning. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was delicious.
