Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOur Host Marco met us upon arrival and that set the whole holiday experience. He gave us a map (I wish all B&B/ Apt owners would remember to give a map on arrival) and told us how to find our way around and gave us tips to get the best value for visiting the main attractions. He suggested a few restaurants nearby and was generally very kind. The ceilings of the bedroom and lounge were beautiful and the little balcony overlooking the tiny garden with the large banana plant was charming. The Bathroom was quirky and unusual. It was a perfect location and an easy walk to Villa d'Este and the Temple of Sibilla and down to the Sanctuary of Ercole Vincitore.

SwitzerlandReally nice hosts holding the B’n’B. Nice breakfast every morning, great location between the railway station and the city centre. I enjoyed the decorated ceiling and the view from the veranda on the beautiful backyard garden. The bathroom layout is interesting , it was built by repurposing a staircase which isn’t super practical but is something you probably won’t see anywhere else. Still, private and clean.

AustraliaLovely outdoor space, and a beautiful apartment. I had an exceptional breakfast. The hosts were so helpful, going through map details with me and suggesting some lovely places to visit and eat while in Tivoli. Easy commute to Rome on the train too.

United States of AmericaThe Palazzo was built in 1559 and the decor adds charm and elegance to the rooms. Our room was much larger than we expected, with a comfortable large room for seating, dining or game playing. It also had a private terrazzo! Marco, the host is lovely! He provided great advice about the city, the sights, local transportation and restaurants. He served great breakfasts to start our days of walking in the Villas! We would highly recommend staying at this BnB.

SpainNo TV - but we didn't notice!
Gaia is a lovely host, and we appreciated her recommendations for where to eat (Alfredo's Trattoria is nearby, and excellent value). This is a fantastic old building, and we were happy to have the ground floor rooms and a small enclosed patio for our use. Despite the extreme heat during our stay, we had no need for the aircon - we stayed beautifully cool. Gaia serves breakfast upstairs, on her first floor terrace - a great way to start the day. Very handy for Villa d'Este and shopping :)

United States of AmericaWe enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Maggiore. Our hosts, Monica and Marco, were exceptionally accommodating! We enjoyed all that Tivoli has to offer and in addition the towns in the surrounding areas. Breakfast was good and especially our morning cappuccinos! Thank you both for a delightful stay.

AustraliaThe bathroom was very difficult as it is a multi-leveled room that has been built into an old staircase. The basin is on the ground, the toilet on the second level and the shower on the third. If you are bigger than average size, taller than average, older than average and suffer from vertigo, then a description of the bathroom should be incorporated into the accommodation description, so that people are aware of this ahead of their visit.. We found it challenging to use the facilities in their current state... non-slip stairs would be a great advantage, as well as easier access to the shower. Other than that, it is worth noting that payment for the accommodation is also cash only, which was a surprise. The description for the property also needs updating as there were several photos that did not represent the accommodation, in addition, the listed items in the accommodation also need updating, such as: - there was no Bidet - there was no sofa - there was no daily house keeping - there was no activities such as cooking class offered or shuttle service
The property is in a good location, easy access to the town and tourist activities. The hosts were very welcoming and offered to help with the bags up the stairs into the property. The hosts also had a map of the area and showed what could be achieved the next day, nothing seemed to be a problem.

United KingdomOnce you locate it, it is easy to gain access, however, due to being in Tivoli you have to use the main car park.
We have stayed here before and it is well positioned to walk to all points of interest. Monica is a very good host.

United States of AmericaThe walls were a little thinner than I would have preferred. Be aware--if you are coming from the train station, you need to go up a flight stairs after crossing the river. We missed these and ended up wandering down a street rolling our luggage along unable to figure out how to get up into the village!
Our host was amazing! He was very friendly and helpful. The room was unique and spacious. We enjoyed our small breakfast that Marko set up in the room for us. Tivoli is a beautiful area that I really enjoyed!

CanadaWe loved every single thing about our stay here and would recommend it to all! Thank you Marco!
Travelling to (Tivoli), arriving at (on an ancient, narrow and sometimes busy street location!) settling in and staying at this incredible B and B was likely the highlight of our monthlong trip to Europe! We had had several friendly, reassuring (re:parking) and helpful conversations by email weeks before with our host Marco before arriving and found him to be exactly like he sounded! Marco and his wife(Monica? whom we never met) have won well deserved awards for their restoration of this home and the B and B suites, carefully preserved integrity and ancient history of the structure…our room/sunken living room and dining area/little courtyard and amazing bathroom were so comfortable and interesting, decorated with many eclectic art pieces, books, and so on. Marco himself brought us our B delicious breakfast every morning, humming little songs as he did.. One of the main reasons we enjoyed our 2 night stay here was absolutely because of our host! Marco knows and loves his little town of Tivoli very much and was prepared when we arrived with maps and information on where to find the train to Roma, the best fountains to explore, as well as several places nearby where we could have dinner! Tivoli is extremely easy to “get around” and find shops, eateries, etc. We ate the first evening at Alfredo’s which is neat inside and serves good fettuccine.Period. We found the wait staff not great and the meat dishes disappointing. BUT the second evening, as Marco had also recommended, we ate at the incredible Il Ciocco! Gorgeous restaurant, unbelievably beautiful setting (right above or near some of the Tivoli fountains like Park Gregorian), excellent staff and delicious food.
