Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Irelandwe had a suite with terrace, the second bedroom was small with a single bed which we weren't expecting, but it was fine for our purposes. The room itself , while clean, had a lot of dust bunnies (I got the impression that the hotel had just reopened after being closed for several months)
The hotel was very nice, the views were great, the walk to the town centre was very quick ( 5 mins to the lake edge) though it is uphill on the way back. The staff could not have been more helpful and the facilities were everything you could ask.

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Quiet area. Very convenient to the lake -5 minute walk and a 10 minute walk to the bus station. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. Our room was very comfortable. We would definitely like to come back.

United KingdomThe bedroom floor was almost too highly polished - so easy to slip. Only a little moan but had to ask for more breakfast tea bags and milk as I don't like herbal teas.
Wonderful welcome, lovely room with view of pool, garden and lake. excellent food and service. Bonus of being able to park car in hotel garage for a cost of 15 euros a day. Ideally positioned for Garda and ferry service.

United KingdomLimited vegetarian option for dinner but we were on B&B and close to eat out in Garda.
We had a a wonderful stay at Hotel Villa Madrina. Very helpful reception and a nice welcome drink. was appreciated. Our balcony overlooked the gardens and pool and views across Garda to the Lake. The pool was fantastic and never crowded with plenty of sunbeds although some with little shade, it was a very hot week in Italy. Air con was great. Really nice selection at the breakfast buffet, the prosecco was a nice addition. We borrowed bikes several days and it is a lovely ride along Lake to Bardalino. 10 min walk from bus stop and 5 mins to lake shore and ferries to visit surrounding towns. Definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was absolutely perfect in every way, from the prosecco welcome drink by the pool, the staff - some of the best we have experienced, the peace and tranquillity of the grounds, the breakfast and location which was very close to lake garda and some fantastic restaurants.

United KingdomWonderful stay at this oasis of peace. The hotel is well located, 5 mins walk from the ferry, lake, shops and restaurants. Our room was on the top floor and had a beautiful view of the gardens and lake. Our bed and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom was new. We had plenty of hanging space for our belongings. The hotel is spotlessly clean, furnished elegantly and comfortable. The staff are superb and really look after you.The food is excellent, we wished we had booked half board ( we will next time) The Gala dinner was very special , live music beautiful setting. I used the Wellness relaxing area and gym. A real bonus for me was the free Yoga classes. We stayed 7 nights and were sad to leave. We are a couple who are quite fussy to please, but it was all just perfect for us.

United KingdomHaving previously stayed at the hotel and now completed our current visit allows us to compare the two visits. In our view the bathrooms are quite dated and need upgrading as well as some repairs. However the most telling change is in the standard of the food. One is presented with four courses each evening. The second third and fourth courses normally have a selection of three alternatives to choose from. The quality needs addressing and frequently food not consumed at one sitting reappears either as a breakfast option, or breakfast selection can reappear as an evening course. While one can understand the need to be economical with food, for example meat not consumed at breakfast was reproduced in the evening just with mustard ladled on it. Not very imaginative. The most telling factor was that a number of half board residents decided to take dinner down in Garda foregoing food already prepared and paid for in the hotel. An improvement in the kitchen is desperately needed.
The position and convenience can not be improved upon. The small number of rooms matches the facilities well. The position of the hotel allows residents to sample the life of Garda as well as the excellent bus and boat services. Hotel staff are attentive and friendly.

United KingdomWe booked the private dinner and instead of having a romantic honeymoon night, it was really horrible due to the high level of mosquitos. We paid extra to get eaten by mosquitos, it was the worst part of the stay.
Great Honeymoon stay and fantastic staff, great food and service. The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the hotel and rooms super clean; we appreciated this. The communication prior arrival was great, overall great stay.
