Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe location is very centrally located and convenient but there’s really nothing else around there. This is why we ate in their hotel both nights, thankfully it was very good and reasonably priced. Walking distance from the train for us, but some may find it too far. Walking distance to Herculeum and the bus for Mt Vesuvius. Neither of those have much around them either. Quick train ride to Pompeii where there’s more going on. Disappointed that the pool had not been cleaned yet for spring.
The property is beautiful. Lovely rooms maintaining the historic appearance but with modern comfort. The restaurant was wonderful. All of the staff were helpful and friendly.

An event hotel with pleasant grounds. About 10 mins walk from Herculaneum ruins. Restaurant was good and fair value.

Polandthe walls between the rooms are very thin - one morning our "neighbour" woke us up using the bathroom and shaving (we could hear the sound of hitting the sink with a razor).
+ very friendly and helpful staff at the reception! + beautiful garden, especially in evenings; + private parking (very important if you have rented a car; we were allowed to leave the car there for sometime after check out which was very convenient); + decent breakfast; + cleanliness; + room looked exactly as presented on photos (we took the one at the top of the building - I've seen people complaining about it and I can't understand it as you can easily see on pictures attached to the offer that some of the rooms may have for example one small window only). + good location, close to the Herculaneum museum and train station.

CanadaWe had a room at the front of the hotel…118 The road is cobblestone and so very very noisy! As well someone was moving garbage containers across the stone at 04:30. The windows are not very good so you hear every little thing…and really hear the big things! Ask for a room at the back of the hotel facing the courtyard.
Hidden gem in Ercolano…very nice property and well maintained. We ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and it was very good. Not much around the hotel within walking distance.

United KingdomThere was a terrible problem with drains when we were there so the entire hotel smelled awful which is unfortunate. We struggled to find somewhere away from the smell to have breakfast even outside on the ground floor outdoor area. I heard other guests mention this too. The hotel seemed out of funds and very run down despite enormous potential and moments of charm. Our mezzanine sleeping area was difficult to climb up to and very bare upstairs with a cheap flat pack wardrobe instead of the advertised antique furniture. The pool area shower was not working and it felt like the hotel wasn't really up and running fully fir the season despite it being 1st June. The local area is really REALLY run down and impoverished. I arrived by train with my children and the website advice is to walk - which we did - but never again. We felt unsafe. And there were almost non existent pavements - often cobbles or dirt so we really struggled to pull our luggage along. Eventually I called the hotel in tears saying I felt unsafe and asked for someone to come and find us. The hotel were understaffed but the receptionist did step outside to guide us the last bit of the way which was a relief but not enough to make up for our awful arrival experience.
The pool was great. The entrance has an air of grandeur. The sheets and beds and bathroom were very nice. Reception staff were pleasant.

United KingdomFamily run in a good way, go with the flow rather than trying to forge your own way. The transport logistics in and out are expectedly pricey. Unless you’ve got luggage enjoy the walk to the local town rather than the golf cart. Food was pretty good. Spa was eclectic but great.
