Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ThailandI was a little lonely, but that is my fault for going at the end of the season. If there are too few guest they set a table of food for you at breakfast rather than a buffet, and I didn't eat everything so I was worried about it being a waste of food.
The hotel had a lovely clean room with a view of gardens behind. It was clean and I found the bed comfy. Because it was winter there was an extra gas heater and this got the room to a toasty temperature very quickly. Rather fantastically the hotel lounge had FREE, yes free, Gin and Saki and soft drinks from 3-12pm, every day. Along with snacks. If there was comfy chairs in that lounge it would have been perfect - there was even a nice view of the sunset. The onsen (which you have to pay extra Y150 per night, but that is the Gov rules - not the hotel) was cute, with a nice rock -lined outdoor pool. It is a VERY short walk to the train station, but if you are going for skiing you will need to get a but up into the hills every day, which I knew beforehand. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was great.

United KingdomLoved the mountainous area. Visited the monkeys. Guess it would be brilliant in the snow season for skiing. Our stay was great. Loved the Onsen and the breakfast was fabulous.

New ZealandVery close to the train station, only a couple of minutes walk. Our 5th floor room had a great view out over the town. The onsen was clean and quiet. The free snacks and drinks in the lounger felt generous. They let us store our luggage safely while we went to the monkey park.

AustraliaThe room I was given (508) was very substandard and uncomfortable especially as I stayed 9 days. I saw into many other rooms which were far larger and more comfortable. There was nowhere to sit except on the beds. The heads of the 2 single beds were pushed under a solid timber shelf making it easy to hit your head. There were no reading lamps and the ceiling light was at the other end of the room. The biggest complaint was the very excessive cost of a spontaneous dinner on arrival. Crazy cost! We had not booked so they charged us A$80 for a quick meal. Local eateries charge about a half to a third of this. Needless to say, I/we went elsewhere for all dinners. These issues can be easily addressed. We are definitely booking into the property for next ski season because it has so much to offer, especially for skiers seeking value, amenities and convenience.
Great breakfasts, great onsen, convenient bus to ski resorts, great afternoon free snacks and alcohol (big bonus), close proximity to train station and bus station (300 metres). Plenty of basic eateries. Fantastic Lawsons convenience store for food and drinks.

SwedenOnly one very small, squishy pillow provided and none more could be obtained from reception - which I couldn't quite understand. What sort of hotel has zero extra pillows available?
The onsen was great, the free beer, coffee and other drinks in the lounge each day was amazing. Room had a nice outlook. Close to a huge range of ski resorts to choose from. Nice restaurants and a Lawson in easy walking distance in the evenings. The breakfast was kind of expensive but a good range of delicious western and Japanese food available. No English tea available though so BYO if you can't live without a cuppa!

AustraliaThe hotel is showing its age and the bathrooms could do with some updating.
The exceptional breakfasts served to us in a private room. The helpful manager and staff. The delightful onsen. The fact that it was off season and quiet. We had on site parking and easy access to the snow monkey park and mountains resorts.

JapanI would have liked a coffee option in the room, There were only tea packets. We did not call and ask for any other options since there is a Lawsons very close. We didn't reserve breakfast with our reservation either. The walls are thin so you can hear doors opening and closing and voices, which means everyone can hear you too. None of this would prevent us from staying again.
Check in was incredibly easy and they offered free soba between 8 and 9pm. Parking was very easily accessed and spacious. The onsen was wonderful with both indoor and outdoor soaking baths. Outdoor is super hot, which we enjoyed. I didn't see any signs about no tattoos and nothing was said at check in, so that was great for us. The bath tubs in the room were nice deep soaking ones. Soap, shampoo and conditioner all smelled good. The sleeping mats were comfortable enough for a one night stay and there were extra available if you wanted extra padding. The heat worked well in the room. We had a great view of town from our room and the roof top terrace was nice to go up to and enjoy the views there, just be careful if it's snowing, it's slippery (duh). It was a very nice stay, a bit pricey, but for one night in Nagano our family enjoyed it. There are also lots of places to eat around the hotel, but hard with a big party (7). We ended up at a snack bar drinking and singing karaoke and then got dinner at Lawsons afterward :) The hotel is close to many Nagano attractions.
