Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomHad a great time at Bandai. Wonderful hosts, amazing food, felt like being part of the family. Lovely experience in the countryside and still close enough to all amenities of the town and Triennale. Great value for money, great experience. Travelled by train and public transport, absolutely possible, but with a car probably more comfortable. Pick up from train station possible. Star of the stay was the amazing home cooked food. Amazing breakfast and dinner.

MaltaThe hospitality of this place is an absolute 10/10. The place is run by a friendly married couple. We were a bit early and they welcomed us and had our room, ready for us to use. We checked in fast and we went to the Tsunan Snow Festival, we came in back late at around 10pm and the wife greeted us and made sure we knew where the facilities were. The next day, we had a traditional Japanese breakfast and that breakfast is still the best traditional breakfast we have throughout the trip to Japan. The husband explained to us, that the rice was grown by him or his family (we were using language translate apps to communicate). We also had a friendly conversation about where we come from and our trip to Japan. This place completely blew all expectations that we had. We expected this to be just a pit stop on our car journey north (did I mention they have plenty of parking?) but it ended up being a place and a memory that we will never forget.

CambodiaThe owners are supper helpful, we feel indebted for his kindness to drive us in snowy day to Urasa! 🙏🙏 the dining was splendid ! We travel by train, the last connection Liyama line is what really rural train offer to make every corner of Japan connected 🤓 The owner only communicate via phone, but it should not be an issue as the place is easy to find and they are always at the place. We feel like home !

Hong KongThe steep stairs leading down to the 2 common bath rooms are a bit trying and risky for elderly people like me and my friends.

CanadaThere is a train station within easy walking distance, but to take full advantage of all that the area has to offer (especially if time is shorter), access to a car is will be an advantage.
The proprietors are a helpful, warm-hearted couple with deep knowledge of the history, agriculture, and culture of the area. The Japanese meals served were varied and delicious! Accommodations were comfortable and homey.

JapanThe home away from home I never knew I had. The owners treat you like relatives that have come to stay, joyfully and with affection. The owners showed great interest in us as guests and people, asking about our days what we enjoyed in Niigata and where we were off to next. The baths had two options, one a traditional onsen style bathroom and the other more like a traditional house, the owners filled the tubs allowing you to soak after your shower. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and cool with AC you could control yourself. For the first time ever, I can happily say I loved the bead pillow provided. The location is directly outside of town following the main road. It sits next to a creek and is surrounded by rice paddies really letting you embrace the Japanese countryside while still being a 10 minute drive from the central shopping and drinking area of Tokamachi. Lastly was the breakfast. What looks like a standard Japanese breakfast will feel you with love, each dish is carefully prepared and pleasently presented.
