Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBreakfast was basic. Probably avoid it and get a tuna and egg sandwich and a coffee at a local coffee shop next time.

SingaporeMost hotel rooms in Japan are tiny but this was a really good size with comfortable beds. The front desk was extra helpful and will address any of your concerns almost immediately. Location was excellent as well, just 1 stop away from Kyoto main station or about 20 mins walk.

New ZealandThe room is huge! The subway station is a very short walking distance, so convenient, lots of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Having a kitchen in the room made things so much easier and the room even has a smart tv, so we got to stream our favourite shows when we just wanted to wind down from a long day outside. The staff are so nice and helpful, this is by far the best out of the 5 hotels I have stayed in while in Japan.

United KingdomWorth noting some of the lower floors had windows that faced the next door building so one of our rooms had a wall, the other a wall and someone's frosted bathroom window. I think when you book a premium room you're getting a view. Kyoto is all about the exploring though so this was ok.
Good location and very pleasant reception staff. Unlike a lot of the other hotels the TV enabled digital access to netflix etc.

United KingdomThere was nothing not to like. If we had to critique could have done with 2 pillows (but I’m sure if we’d of asked they’d have provided us with extra).
Very close to everything and good access to subway. Room very spacious. The property has a very lovely feel to it and is decorating in a modern/Japanese way. Staff friendly. Shower powerful and useful kitchen area.

SingaporeHowever, it's important to note that there is no lift at Gojo Station, so be prepared for a flight of steps to exit the station. Additionally, the immediate vicinity of the hotel has only a handful of small eateries. Regarding breakfast, the options were fairly simple, comprising sausages, bread, buns, baked beans, rice/noodles, cereal, juice, coffee, and tea. While sufficient to start the day, you might want to venture further to explore more interesting local food options.
This was my second stay at a Citadines Aparthotel, having previously stayed at Citadines on Bourke in Melbourne. My experiences at both locations were very good, particularly in terms of location, room amenities, and service. Location: The proximity to Gojo Station, less than 50 meters away, was incredibly convenient. Additionally, there's a nearby bus stop offering direct access to the Gion district. Within 2 kilometers, you'll find the vibrant Nishi Market and the historical Higashi Honganji temple, both must-visit attractions. Service: The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the check-in process was swift and efficient. Room: The room size was adequate for two people, although slightly smaller than the rooms at Citadines Bourke Street in Melbourne. It was well-equipped with pantry facilities for added convenience.

AustraliaRoom was a little dated/had some marks and older furniture. It didn't bother us though.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was excellent and easy to find. Room was large and spacious, and we faced the back/side of the building so not too much traffic noise. We got a good amount of daylight. It was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay.
