Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwedenThe rooms were not very spacious, but not smaller than other rooms in Japan. Small shelves and other solutions made it convenient anyway.
The whole hotel was extremely well equipped and everything felt new. Cleaning was great. Spa area was spotless and had everything needed, and more.

SwedenSome of the cleaningstaff didn't smell good. And sometimes when they cleaned our room thier own smell lingered. The washing service was hard to use because of luandry machines being used all the time. There is no booking system and drying takes ages so it's not a wonder why they are used so often. The slippers we got smelled bad. And I got a bad odor on my feet's after using them, so smell them before using.
The people working at the hotel we're really nice. They said hello every day and the breakfast was good even though it didn't look good it tasted good. The yogurt was fantastic. Our rooms were clean and didn't smell bad. They helped us with luggage tranfer after checkout and it went smooth. The hotel is very central and still we didn't hear the traffic or anyone else. 6min walk to karasuma line that takes 2min to go to kyoto Central Station. We had buss stopps close by, a familymart beside the hotel and very beautiful inner streets that you could walk to different cafes and restaurants.

Czech Republic-windows were not openable, but no real problem:)
+very convinient location, close to the metro or by walk to the city, safe area +kind and helpful staff +everything was clean and functional +big room with a street view, very quiet, large comfortable beds, lot of storage place, seating area +great breakfast with everything we needed, we especially enjoyed the salad bar (fish would be nice, but no complains) +a lot of toiletries available, free rental equipment and pajamas +TV where you can check the availability of washing mashines and dryers (on each odd floor) and the occupation of the spa and breakfast hall +vending mashines downstairs and free drinking water on each floor +elegant free spa area with separate f/m access is a good place to rest after a long walking around Kyoto´s amazing sights We didn't expect such quality for a very pleasant price (compared to Europe), but we soon found out that in Japan it's like that with almost everything. We hope to come back soon! <3

United StatesThe rooms we reserved (2 double rooms for 3 adults and 1 child) were sufficient in size and the beds were super comfortable. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious. The location is the best. Not far from Kyoto Station and maybe points of interest from historical sites, amazing food, fun experiences. The staff are all very warm, welcoming, and helpful. They allowed us to store our bags early at the lobby. I used the public bath on the last morning before checkout. It was so relaxing. We also enjoyed the buffet style breakfast. Lots of options and $15 is a reasonable price. I believe you can add it on your reservation here on Booking or just pay for it in the lobby on the morning of. The curry was especially amazing! (Look at the photos I added to this post.) We had an amazing stay and highly recommend it.

Eveything! The location is perfect, the rooms are stylish and very comfortable (amazing pillows!!), and we really enjoyed the onsen :) There’s water dispensers and washing+drying machines which are very convenient. We also appreciated the fact that they kept our luggage before check-in and after check-out. All in all a great value for money. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel because we found it too expensive (2200¥ per person) - maybe it would have been cheaper when booked together with the room? But we managed with the nearby shops such as Caffe Veloce, Hollys and Family mart.

TurkeyIf I were to mention a couple of downsides, one would be the waiting time for the elevators during busy hours — it can take a bit longer than expected. Also, the designated smoking room is quite small and may feel cramped.
The onsen (hot spring bath) is definitely a great advantage of the hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable — more than satisfying in terms of overall convenience. Housekeeping is consistent and attentive to cleanliness. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful; they gave us a warm welcome on the first day and assisted us with our luggage transfer. Small but thoughtful details are well taken care of — such as providing a charging cable, razor, and other essentials in the room, which really enhance the comfort level. There is also a beautifully designed small Zen garden in the hotel lobby, which adds a calm and elegant atmosphere as soon as you enter the building. The location is also excellent. There is a FamilyMart just 1 minute away, and a 7-Eleven store only 2 minutes away on foot. The nearest subway station is about a 5-minute walk. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located stay in Kyoto.

United StatesMy room didn't have any view (I was on the 3rd floor). The glass was completely frosted. Not the worst just something I would have liked. My friends had a room on the 9th floor with a great view. Also the laundry was ALWAYS occupied. Even people from other floors were using the laundry so it was impossible to wash my clothes.
Everything was very clean. Room had great space for all my luggage. Staff was very helpful and understanding. Staff spoke good English as well. Very close to Nishiki Market, Kyoto Tower and Temple are walkable. Little more and Kyoto Station is right there.

SpainI didn´t like that every day the breakfast buffet was always the same, it would have been better if there were some changes each day to offer more selection. It got a bit boring after the third day.
The service was excellent and the staff were great also the beds were extremely comfortable. The location was great too.
