Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe shared little kitchen area, particularly the microwave, could have used a cleaning while we were there. That said, it's very hard to keep up with a bunch of messy people wrecking the microwave with their stinky food, so we weren't that upset.
The location is super great and it's a short and easy walk to most of the bathhouses in town from the accommodations. Check-in was easy with super friendly staff, and the room was nice and well-maintained. The beds are futon beds which isn't for everyone and is pretty hard on my bad back, but overall it was very comfortable and I'd highly recommend staying here.

AustraliaIt's an ageing building that smelled like it could do with a good airing, but not a big deal. We ended up placing the spare futon mattresses under ours as they were the thinnest we had come across in Japan and needed a little more cushioning. After that they were fine!
A simple, spacious room suitable for a budget stay (one night recommended) in this beautiful town. Toilet but no shower - we knew this when booking but went ahead as we made the most of the onsens! A couple of flights of stairs to get to the room, and it's in a street behind the main accommodation. Centre of town, close to everything.

ThailandI had to do as double futon bed sanwich to make it more comfy. Annex site doesn't has elevator, then we had to carry big bagages by ourself to 2nd and 3rd floor. No shower room and frige in the room, but the staff provided a card for outside public bath/onsen points with free of charge.
Location was good, 10 minutes walk from Kinosaki Onsen Station and around public bath/ onsen points.

SingaporeThe toilets are outside the main bedroom, which means getting up during the night = getting very cold and also you need to remember to take the key with you which is a small point but in the middle of the night it's difficult to remember these things. Also it means that you wake up your roommate because of all the beeping and locking / unlocking etc.
It was very clean and simple, the bedding was comfortable, and it was in a great location. We were welcomed warmly and giving all of the relevant information including our onsen passes, there was the option for yukata too.

AustraliaThe futons are very thin. Like unsleepably thin. I don’t mind a firm mattress but this futon was 4cm thick if that. Management staff were unfriendly and unhelpful at check in.
Really good size room, in a great location. It’s behind the main building on a quiet street,

AustraliaThin futons, but not something to complain about.
Read the reviews and was concerned about the customer service. However, staff were polite and Check in process was smooth. We were supplied with 2 nights worth of towels and yakutas, a free onsen town pass, and they also lent us a charger adapter for our stay. We got a budget room in the other building, with a private toilet. Both were very clean. Futon mattress was thinner than others however this wasn't a deal breaker. Making them up ourselves was also no problem as there are clear instructions provided. I would stay here again and recommend it to others as a budget stay. We are pretty easy going and you get what you pay for. There are plenty to her ryokans if it's not for you :)

BruneiIf only the tatami was thicker.
I love the cleanlines and tidiness of the hotel reception area, the room. Its very comfortable to stay in except the tatami was abit uncomfortable (hard against the floor). The pillow and blankets were very comfortable too. Otherwise, we love this hotel, we booked the private onsen and had the best time of lives in Japan. Thank you so much.
