Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TaiwanYou have to purchase your use of air conditioner for 100¥ for every 3 hours. It’s reasonable, just not that convenient, especially in summer… Toilet is not a washlet toilet. Nearly no air flow in the bathroom.
Location is super for shopping! No elevator but the stairs are easy to climb.

I really loved this location, it was very central, but at the same time, in a nice corner in a neighbourhood where you could live in a peaceful serenity. I actually chose this accommodation for what it offered in price, location, and parking space! Leaving the rental car in a car park would have been costly with the overnight meters, and doing it through 1 of Minshuku's Getto 3 parking lots made it convenient in how much the fixed cost would be. - The manga collections in the corridors were amazing! So many old school classics like Slam Dunk and Great Teacher Onizuka! - The host Teru, and his wife were super helpful and treated me not only as a guest or as one of their own, but as if I were their child in a child parent relationship (in a good way), and that was beautiful :) - Very glad I chose this place! The futons were excellent and comfortable, I slept well enough, warm enough and happily enough! - The tatami mat, splendid! - If I ever come back to Okinawa, this is the place that I will instantly zoom into! Hopefully by then its not all booked out so that I can book a room ahaha - Easy walk to the city center, about 3 mins give or take - I brought my own universal plugs, but if you've forgotten to bring some, depending on where you are coming from, the hosts have some on desk to borrow to you for free, just make sure to return them back, please - Nice chill balcony, I can imagine summer days being vibrant with the sound of insects and a manga book on the balcony whilst leisuring around! - If you book a stay here based on my review, please give Teru san and his wife my greetings - Plenty of conbini shops around the corner - Washing machine available, they even have a detergent available for you to use. Arigatou Teru San!

MalaysiaThere are coin-operated washing machines, but no dryer within the premises. If you have laundry to dry, you would need to walk to the nearest coin laundry, which is a few minutes away.
It is walking distance to one of the monorail stations and is very near to the major tourist district where you could easily shop and find food. The single room is spacious and comfortable. The guest room and shared space is very clean.

PolandIntense smell in the room, not pleasant. According to decription of the rooms on Booking, it should be soundproof, but I got a room next to bathroom and toilet, and it was noisy. Also it should be complimentary tea and coffie available (according to info on Booking), but I could not see any, nor the glasses or any other dishes, in the shared area). Air conditioner paid extra.
Polite owners, good wifi, clean, washing mashines available. Good location. Comfortable mattress. Reasonable check-in&out time.

CanadaThere are stairs to carry luggage up/down - you'll either be on the 2nd floor (shared bathroom) or the 3rd floor (private bathroom). The rooms are all tatami mats, therefore no chairs are in the room and there is no common area to sit at a table.
The location is great - a short walk to Kokusei-dori and a monorail station. Friendly owners. Metered air conditioning is available in the room: 100 yen for 3 hours, which you can pause when leaving the room to save any remaining credits. Kitchenette facilities are available - microwave, fridge, sink.

SingaporeI had one of the single occupancy rooms on the second floor, left door from the staircase (no lifts btw). The common area for these rooms (where the sink, microwave, toilet, shower, fridge, and bins are located) was not the best as the sink was not usable - possibly choked, as there was a slight smell coming from it - so it was not possible to fill up my bottle from the tap, i had to step out and go to the common area of the other set of rooms on the second floor to do so. The walls can be a bit thin - i could hear my neighbour snoring. It would also have been nice if there were a chair and table on the balcony, even if there's not much of a view. The wifi signal was not consistently strong throughout the room - it dropped when i was seated at the low table near the room door, but was fine in the middle of the room. However, these are minor issues given the price paid for the room.
The location is fantastic - just a little behind Kokusai dori, which opens up one's eyes to the little restaurants in the back alleys behind the lights and noise of the touristy main street. The room, futon, bath towel, toilets/showers, sinks, and common corridor are clean enough (not spotless, but that's just me nitpicking). It was nice that outside shoes were not allowed in the common corridor/area outside the rooms; one has to take them off and leave them just behind the door facing the minshuku's staircase. Shower has good water pressure and hot water; shampoo and body soap are provided. I appreciated the clothes lines and pegs in the balcony, as i needed to do some laundry; also appreciated that a mosquito screen was provided for the balcony sliding door. It can get a bit warm in the room but as the temperature cools at night, and by opening the room and balcony doors to cross ventilate before sleeping, it became quite comfortable (note - this was in mid Oct, so it's also past the peak summer heat). The parking lot was also right in front of the minshuku.

NetherlandsLike other reviews stated. The coin-operated aircon is a bit peculiar, especially for Japenese standards. We didn't mind it as we were aware of it and we understood why
Really good location and a lovely family run hotel. Parking right in front of the hotel is an added benefit. Also, don't forget to pet the dog

United StatesWe didn’t mind it but some might be frustrated you have to pay for AC. We put in 500¥ for 12 hrs. You could do 300¥ for 6hrs I think. We were there in June and it was really hot so I didn’t mind at all.
Centrally located to all our needs. Walking distance to bus, monorail, food. Loved that it was run by a local family. Tradition Japanese style sleeping. It was comfy.

DenmarkThe Japanese interior with tatami floors and futons was a pleasant and authentic surprise. I asked if I could have a friend stay in my room and this wasn't a problem at all. It's very centrally located. I didn't mind the coin AC - it prevents overuse, is better for the environment and it wasn't expensive at all.

AustraliaThe area was sometimes a bit noisy at night, I could hear people talking on the streets or next door quite clearly. Also had to pay to use the aircon, 100 yen per 3 hours. Not a big deal for me because it wasn’t super warm, I was ok with just the little fan, but would be tough in the hotter months.
Owners are very kind and helpful, they responded very quickly when I had a question. Very clean, no issues with the facilities at all, although sleeping on the futon might be a little uncomfortable if you’re not used to it. 100 yen to use the washing machine (cheaper than other places I’ve stayed), and there’s a washing line and pegs on the balcony. Location is good, about 5 - 10 minutes walk from monorail and Naha bus terminal.

United StatesMy only issue was that the private bathroom option rooms bathroom kinda smelled bad, almost like rot and vinegar. I don't think the fan was working either. But I've had the same issues with other hotels here in Japan too and this one wasn't that bad. Also be prepared to use all your 100 yen coins on the AC machine.
The owners were very welcoming and made checking in easy! When staying here you're really close to the Kokusai Dori with tons of restaurants and shops, as well as the monorail being super close too! I also liked the tatami mat room. The futon bed was so comfortable it was hard too leave!
