Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Located 8 to 9 minutes from Shibuya station. Near enough to multiple restaurants and family mart directly next door helped. Staff were pleasant for the most part. Wouldn’t hesitate to book here again

They could have given 2 pillows per person upon check in instead of us requesting for it.
This is our 3rd time staying at Shibuya Tobu Hotel! It's a decent size room vs the other hotel rooms in Japan and the rate is reasonable about SGD180/night. 8 min walking distance to shibuya train station making is accessible to travel to yokohama, back to narita airport and basically everywhere else in Tokyo.

This hotel was perfect for our needs - we wanted to be in Shibuya and walking distance to Harijuko. The hotel rooms were small but perfectly functional and I would recommend and return for a similar trip.

Walking there with luggage can be a struggle as it is uphill
Staff were nice and friendly, prime location as it is a short walk away from major department stores in Shibuya, rooms were spacious enough. There are a few restaurants situated under and around the hotel which are all great to dine at.

The room was clean, the location was a distance from the station - but we were aware of that, and that dropped the price compared to other hotels. The location to everything else in Shibuya was fantastic and out teenagers loved it.

One of the room was not as clean as expected..room are small for European standards so it is difficult to clean the floor in some area, nothing very bad but it was a bit dusty.

No breakfast included but there are nice cafe's nearby. The room was small but clean and quiet. Staff was helpful and did not have any difficulties communicating in english. Location was excellent.

At the hotel cafe, we find that the cafe counter staff has issues understanding us as they can only conversed in Japanese. Although a bit troublesome but it is ok since we have google translate apps to help us converse/translate.
The location is the reason why we have chosen the Shibuya Tobu Hotel. Our room is a bit small but that is expected since it is near or close to most amenities and conveniently located. The rooms are reasonably clean and the counter staff are professionally helpful too.

A cupboard for luggage would have been nice. Also, there were only two washers and two dryers for the entire hotel. Maybe adding a couple of more of each would be helpful.
Location was perfect, and the rooms were clean. I also appreciated the amenities on the first floor that we could pick up whenever we wanted to (coffee, tea, etc). The cold water available to guests on the 1st floor was a nice touch, too. Oh, and I loved the Japanese-style restaurant on the basement floor.

Rooms are very small - natural for Japan more of a heads up than a criticism.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Provided spare keys for rooms and referred us to good places to eat and visit. Amenities bar with toothpaste, mouthwash, razors etc was very convenient. Rooms were very clean. Washing machine and dryer available for laundry with an app to tell you when a machine was available. Great location and short walk from Shibuya Crossing and Station. Food and shopping precinct very close.

Staff were a mixed bunch, the 2pm check in is very strictly enforced…
