Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandNothing bad, but the rooms are very standard hotel rooms - if you're looking for more of an authentic Japanese experience, look at either a Ryokan or something more.
Fantastic Location close to Shinagawa Station. Very accessible to JR and other lines and can come directly from Airport on express buses.

AustraliaThe rooms are a little small (main tower) and the line up for breakfast is ridiculous- so many people using the one space. We would arrive before they opened at 6 and the line was already long - at least 50 people. Even when we went later at 8 it was even worse. Just too many people! We also noted that some people ignored the non-smoking policy and were smoking in their rooms on our floor (36)
The hotel is in a great location, close to the station to catch the Shinkansen or trains into Tokyo.

ThailandThe breakfast buffet isn't outstanding. The coffee lounge on the second floor is a better choice if you prefer quiet area with a little thing to eat for breakfast.
The hotel is adjacent to the Shinagawa train station and surrounded by several restaurants. Annex building has a small shopping mall on the first and second floor. Buffet dinner at LUXE DINING HAPUNA restaurant is fine but not great. There is a large selection of foods to choose from. The highlight is roast beef and all desserts.

United KingdomRestaurant and cafe prices were extortionate £25 for a breakfast with coffee was nice but not worth £25. Walk across to train station and there was great cafe with french toast and other great meals for reasonable price.
Perfect for travelling as right next to shinigawa station, very clean and local 7/11 on site. Aquarium right next door and was a highlight of our trip and a must for all. Facilities in room were nice, fresh bottled water every day. Rooms are small but adequate.

AustraliaIt wasn't clear where the breakfast we had paid for was located. Level 1 is very broad. Would have been nice to know the name of the restaurant we were looking for. The breakfast in the Annex Tower was below avaerage and we couldn't get in some days as the queue was just too long so that was a big waste of money. We managed to have 2 breakfasts in the Main Tower and they were so much better.
Location was amazing. So close to Shinagawa station and the Yamanote line. Room and facilities were great. Staff were very friendly.

TurkeyFacilities are old and unmaintained. Stayed here on main tower for 8 nights, on fourth night the closet door fell off. Disaster.
Proximity to Shinagawa Station is great. Close to yamanote line. There is a 7 11 in the annex tower easily accessible. Food court with fast food available in the tower. Hotel service was great, they informed me of my amazon packages. View was fantastic.

ThailandPolicy that seems a bit too commercialized such as strict check-in time. We arrived around 14:00 which was a little before 15:00 check-in time. The room was ready but we were asked to pay ¥2,000 for early check-in which we declined. When we were back a little after 15:00, the line for check-in was very long and we were asked to self check-in even though we were in line for regular check-in and at that time only a couple of people were in front of us. This was the second time we stayed at Shinagawa Prince Hotel. Overall it's still good but it appeared the hotel has lost hospitality aspect a bit.
Close to Shinagawa Station. Although it's not as convenient as hotels near Tokyo Station in terms of getting around, the price is more affordable. Also, the hotel has rooms that have 3 beds which fit 2 adults and 1 child nicely.

AustraliaConsidering the price of the rooms, rooms were starting to show their age and need modernising. This was in the main tower floor 7, maybe elsewhere in the hotel is better.
The hotel was conveniently located opposite a major train station. The train station is also a Shinkansen station which was convenient for the next leg of our trip to Kyoto.

United KingdomThe bedroom was disappointing in size and luxury. The bathroom whilst adequate was far from modern. There was no real extractor solution. To use the hotel bar you had to pay an entrance fee, despite being hotel residents - what's that about?
