Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaRoom service is not available daily but every 2 days. Towels were smelly after 1 time use tho! Front desk staffs were passive. No greeting, no eye contact. Sometimes I didn't realise their existence :D.
Beside location, the overall rating I would give slightly above average. Location is very strategic - amenities, metro stations (various lines), shops, tourist attractions, eateries etc are all within reasonable walking distance.

Area was convenient to transportation. It was clean and quite area. What was a plus is that they held our luggages for four (4) days while we traveled outside of Tokyo. For a fee which was very affordable.

JapanOther comments pointed it out but the rooms are SMALL. It was expected and not an issue in our case, but if you have two large suitcases you won't be able to open them or navigate the room. But again this is very much expected for a room that well priced in center Tokyo. Also for some reason our air conditioner unit had a weird smell so we couldn't use it. Fortunately the room stayed fresh by itself.
The hotel is conveniently placed near both a subway station and at walking distance from the larger Ueno station. The staff was friendly at check-in. The room itself was clean, provided a mini-fridge and a kettle.

CanadaIt's not so much a negative but just in comparison to other hotel rooms, ours didn't have a small desk area which is usually very practical to put the luggage (or in our case a large travel backpack) to sort through our stuff and organize it. We had to do it on the bed everytime and then close it to store it in the entrance area. Not the worst but if you have a larger suitcase it could be tricky.
The hôtel was very well located, easy access to lots of restaurants, the great Kappabashi district and Asakusa. Also easy walking distance from Akihabara which we loved exploring at night. The room is quite small but it's common in Japan hotels, we had all we needed to have a pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly and it was easy to ship our luggage there and also have them store it for us the day of our departure.

New ZealandNothing major, but under the bed looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while! This didn't impact our stay, just a thought for future improvement.
Excellent location walkable to Ueno and Asakusa. Easy transport links to other neighbourhoods. Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and tidy room with most things you need. Comfortable bed. Definitely recommended.

CanadaLocation was convenient ....close to restaurants, laundry mat, convenience store, transit, mall...yet far enough so quiet enough to sleep well. The building was secure and comfortable. Service was good. Fresh towels every 2 days as requested as we did not need daily housekeeping. Tea and coffee and water in the lobby and a dining table with seating anyone could use. Extra toiletries in the rooms and lobby if needed. Front desk staffed 9am to 9pm. Detailed instructions for after hours check in provided by email were so easy to follow. Communication with the hotel was so easy and the staff were very responsive and informative.

United KingdomAs with most hotels in Tokyo, the room was small—but we were aware of that when we made the booking.

United StatesThe room is TRULY VERY SMALL. I think my bedroom at home is bigger than the entire space. Be prepared for that. And one of the staff members at the front desk oddly completely ignored us coming and going (but the one that checked us in was super friendly and helpful).
The proximity to Ueno station is great - slightly far with a lot of luggage, but doable. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, with several convenience stores nearby as well as a sweet tiny sandwich shop. Though the room is tiny, it was very comfortable and quiet and truly had everything we needed. Also very clean, and a lot of good basic amenities to make sure you're comfortable.
